Haliburton helping Iran set up their nuclear plant in Arak was the first gift.
Iraq was the second gift.
Now Afghanistan.
(Not to mention increased support for Hezbollah in Lebanon and elsewhere)

An excerpt...

Over the past decade and a half, the United States has taken out Iran’s chief enemies on two of its borders, the Taliban government in Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Iran has used that to its advantage, working quietly and relentlessly to spread its influence.

In Iraq, it has exploited a chaotic civil war and the American withdrawal to create a virtual satellite state. In Afghanistan, Iran aims to make sure that foreign forces leave eventually, and that any government that prevails will at least not threaten its interests, and at best be friendly or aligned with them.

The sentence in bold is EXACTLY as I predicted the day we invaded.

To be fair, wasn't that what everybody predicted except for the fuckwits in George II's candidate who'd been hoping for an excuse to invade Iraq?

Let's see what major Democratic leader, who just LOST the last election, voted for the war ---before she was against the war?

The last 3-4 major marches I participated in were against that damn invasion, and I will never forget Hillary's vote in support of the Iraq invasion.

How can people who protested against the invasion/Iraq War, and we had some big protests here in D.C. support Hillary Clinton?

It is mind boggling.

Then they put their hands in their pockets and looked the other way when Obama took over the bombing

You are suggesting that anyone here supports hillary. I have not seen anyone support hillary. I protested against the war here in Canada, I dont support hillary, but I would have voted for her over trump or any repub.
Healthcare, and the poor, sick disabled, minorities, deserve better than a republican government.

Lucy, I respect you for that.
I remember being at work, when we began bombing, I shed a few tears.
I am still angry that she won the Democratic nomination, many misguided women, and minorities voted for Clinton over Bernie.

Even you can't put the Iraq invasion on President Obama, he inherited the war.
Once you are involved in something like this, you can't just "walk away".
We will be involved in the Middle East, probably forever.

Please

I have never supported Hillary for any public office.

That being said...

She may have voted for the war, but it wasn't her that conceived of the idea in the first place. And she sure as hell didn't sell nuclear technology to Iran.

We have many that go along with a lot of things these days.
It was not MY idea, but I voted for it.
That makes it okay?
got it

That is a straw man argument, and NOT what I said. You completely misunderstood my post.. Her vote was NOT okay. (And one of a plethora of examples of why she is unfit for any office).

The point of my post was that Hillary discussion is a derail of the thread. By referring to the "gifts to Iran" (the ACTUAL subject of the thread), I was pointing out that Hillary was irrelevant to the thread.

Remember Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink. They went away when Obama got elected. The war didn't matter any more to them.

That would be because Obama was already planning to get our troops out of there. (Which he did)

Obama didn't just bomb Iraq, his Arab Spring nightmare pushed for violent regime change across the ME with no plans for the power vacuums which followed

His idiocy gave rise to ISIS, and the genocide and terror that followed

Who doesn't remember his Secretary of State famously laughing as she said of Gaddafi, "We came, we saw, he died."

I am guilty of a lot of thread drifting lately, spank me.
lol
Back to the OP, we are in a huge mess in the Middle East.
As many have said, for years, Iran was always a much bigger threat than Iraq.
I spent a few minutes, reading the article and I am NOT fully clear on how big a relationship
Afghanistan has with Iran, but I understand that Iran has been supporting the Taliban fighters
against Iraq.
Iran is very involved with not only supporting the Taliban, but in bed with Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia?
It is very complex, very involved, and will not be good for the West.
It's a big cluster fuck, with no end in sight.

He fucked the whole place up. Gave it to ISIS on a silver platter

Two years after Obama took control of Iraq, everything was going smoothly:
