Whose organization? If you don't have the decency to use someone's chosen pronouns, at least stick with a last name, or 'suspect' even, I guess. It's less confusing that way.

The name of his organization was Pride.
No indication it was at all violent.
It is as I suspect you can figure out a gay rights organization.

Do you make a habit of dishonoring the dead? Or ignoring the plights of anyone different than you?

You're now choosing to be a bastard, even though I gave you a very clear and easy out to avoid it. That's a shame, Bama.

I was doing no such thing.
You asked me to name the organization to make it easier to follow. I did.
I made the point that they were non-violent, how can that be insulting.
And then I gave you credit to be able to figure out what their focus was without
a detailed explanation. That was hardly insulting.
You must not have read my post completely wrong.

So, yeah, you are.

I never asked the name of an organization. Your usage of the pronoun 'his' was what I was questioning. The only one in the story that self identified as male was the cop.

Of course it does Bama, they could have had stun guns, plastic bullets, mace, "you name it", and tasers.

There are many alternatives to bullets these days, wish I could invent more alternatives.

The Marshall Project- Alternatives to Bullets

That is what I said the fault lay with the school which limited their choices. Now do you require that the officers carry there weapons
loaded with rubber bullets (which BTW can kill at the range this range, but hot considered a lethal round) so that when they need
the more lethal round they wouldn't have it. Tasers fine. I like the Idea of flash bangs,
you can disable the suspect without disarming the cops. As is so often the case the cops only have what the city (or in this case the school)
will get for them. The city/school gives them missions and equipment which puts them in these situations and people never blame the people
but go after the cops who are caught in the middle.

The student was male but identified himself as "gender fluid" I referred to him as male so those
who read the story wouldn't be confused. He was the president of Pride so it was his organization.
We still just have a misunderstanding, I did not insult anyone.

It isn't an insult to you, so it's fine, and no one has the right to call you out on it.

When did you turn into one of those?

You misunderstood my intent. there was no insult intended. I have explained that and there
was no insult intended. Maybe you can tell me what the insult is. I can't see why you would be
insulted unless you just want to be.

One more time, Bama, If you don't have the decency to use someone's chosen pronouns, at least stick with a last name, or 'suspect' even, I guess. It's less confusing that way.

Of the two people directly involved in the shooting, only one would choose to respond to 'him', 'his', or 'he', and he's still alive to be able to. And I'm certainly not the only one that would say so.

A lack of reading comprehension on Bama's part says nothing about my mental fortitude. Even the article he posted in his OP had Scout's preferred pronouns listed.

And if you feel that doing so is caving in to political correctness, there are still ways to discuss the fallen student, if you have any grasp of the English language at all, and any inclination not to be a bastard.

I just don't get why anyone would think that this is about race or 'otherness'.
This is mostly about the police... they're kind of an issue at the moment.

Non-lethal takedowns have bad optics. Especially now with all of the recording devices.

Do you recall Rodney King?

Now, imagine the howls and gnashing of teeth if three or four burly cops had taken down this goblin and had to wail on him to get the weapon taken away?

To add to this, we have more female cops now. Female cops are not able to do take-downs of goblins like male cops are able to.

At least we're moving to this a half step at a time.

Once we move on from the "You're Fired!" to the "You're Shot in the Head!" reality shows, we'll be getting somewhere, and the country will be better.

Your point seems to be that outright murder is more acceptable, and in fact necessary, if there otherwise be any hint of injustice as the event plays out.

Shots to center mass, to make the lefties happy, is that it? That's your argument for the whole affair?

I am going to break precedent here and defend Bama. I have never in my life heard the phrase "If you don't have the decency to use some one's chosen pronouns......" And here you are talking about a dead person. Whether he chose "they" as his mandatory pronoun is mote now because he is dead and legally he is just a body; he has no rights. The issue here is his death and the reason for his death and the action of the idiot cop. Otherwise, Bama was using common and accepted convention in his writing. It has nothing to do with respect. He did not disrespect the dead kid. Your chastising Bama is off topic and petty. Pronouns here, you're talking about pronouns while the life blood drains out of the kid's corpse. Shameful and trivial.

You don't think that maybe dealing with assholes that didn't give a fuck about pronouns might have had a damn thing to do with him walking up to an armed officer screaming "Shoot me!"??

Granted, you may be an insensitive fuck on such things, but for those that aren't, the improper usage of "him" & "his" was confusing as hell.

Age, I am past retirement age. And I was in the military till I was to old.
As far as what is a threat to me you haven't got a clue.

Again you don't understand that the school put them in a situation where they were going to make
people mad no matter what the cops did and did not give them the right equipment .
