At ten feet per floor, the height difference between floor ten and floor 32 is 220 feet, but the horizontal distance doesn't change. The bullet has no idea it's fallen 220 feet as gravity handles that. A .223 bullet leaves an AR at about 3,200 fps with a little over 1300 foot-pounds of energy. At 500 yards the velocity is about 1300 fps with about 200 foot-pounds of energy. If you understand your trigonometry the difference in elevation means nothing because gravity takes care of that and the bullet only understands the 500 yards horizontal difference (ignoring a millisecond or two of drag due to air friction). A 230 grain .45 acp has about 360 foot-pounds of energy at the muzzle and a 158 grain .38 special has about 200 foot-pounds of energy at the muzzle. So at 500 yards horizontal distance a .223 has the energy of a .38 special at the muzzle which was issued as a police revolver for years. The velocity change due to drag in the air is based on horizontal distance (or close enough not to worry about until you get out passed 800 yards.) Even beyond 800 yards the friction from air in the vertical plane is only reasonable to worry about in unusual situations. If you were going to take a head shot at 500 yards the elevation change of 220 feet is nothing. I have an app on my phone that provides the solution to the point that I can lay my phone on the barrel of the gun and the app will read the angle and call NOAA for local weather conditions to feed in temperature and humidity changes from where I zeroed the rifle and tell me what to click into the zero. If I were setting up for the thing that evil guy did, all of that would be dialed in days before the event and the elevation change would mean nothing other than a better view. If you're not taking a head shot but just want to impact lead on a body at 200 ft-lbs, the height difference is nothing.

FR: I just looked up the performer, Jason Aldean. It seems his fan group is called 'Aldean's Army' and it has army-type symbols on hats, t-shirts, etc. I wonder if this gunman went nuts and was kind of 'going to war' with a right-leaning 'army'? Someone that was going psychotic could think like that.

Whitman, who was mentioned earlier had a good school record, was a good marine and then he snapped, killed his wife and mother, went to the top of the clock tower at the University of Texas and started shooting people. When he was found, he had a letter in his pocket and his journal was in a foot locker at the scene. The journal described some bad headaches he had been having, and his letter asked that an autopsy be performed. They found a large brain tumor. Who knows, this guy may have had the same problem. But the bottom line is that people sometimes snap, has nothing to do with Islam, or religion, or race. One day they wake up and decide for whatever reason they are going to kill people. A kid in my high school got up one morning and killed his mother and step dad, his reason was simple, they were not going to let him play football for the school because his grades had fallen to a 'c'.

No, she is insisting on facts that have already been discredited, and as for her language comprehension, the official languages of her country are English, Tamil, Malay and Standard Mandarin. So, yes she understands English quite well, since it is taught her the school system she grew up with. However, my opinion is that if the truth does not fit whatever parameters she has already established as real, then she refuses to accept the truth, even if her premise was false to begin with. In that respect she is no different than those in the Catholic church who condemned Nicolaus Copernicus as a heretic for proposing that the earth orbited the sun. What was it? 200 years before that changed? In that respect, she is no different that conservatives who point to Islam and its followers as the reason the world is going to hell. She is intolerant, prejudiced, and closed minded. The only two people I have seen worse are Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh. The difference is that both of those men have been successfully sued for pushing the same type of conspiracy theories, or to avoid a lawsuit, publicly admit they were wrong and the stuff they were saying was not based in truth but bullshit.
