The same reason the president fired him, basically.
My! Haven't we come a long way! Not too long ago, it was aggressive defence of Trump, total emphatic denial along the lines of "fake news", "witch hunt", "there was no collusion, no nothing", "nothing to see here" "you lost get used to it". "you howlers are literally insane" and so on.
Now it's a meek "nothing to do with Trump" delivered with an almost audible sigh of relief and followed by the lamest attempt at bravely laughing the whole matter off.
And then incredibly, despite Trump's repeated and very public insistence that it's all a witch hunt, an attempt to give Trump credit for initiating the 'witch hunt' by firing those naughty boys Mannafort and Papadopolous.
Wow! Just wow! One has to take a step back and admire the sheer logic-defying agility of Bosco's intellectual gymnastics, his relentless drive to put a positive spin on real factual news, no matter how damaging that news is to Trump or the minescule remnants of Bosco's own tattered credibility.
We have months of this folly to look forward to .....[:D] When it comes to comedy, Seinfield has nothing on Bosco, though given the circumstances an allusion to Bob Hope might have been more appropriate ...
