Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn has been charged in the special counsel's Russia investigation with making false statements to the FBI and is expected to plead guilty at a hearing Friday morning. Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office released a one-count charging document ahead of the hearing. The document accusing Flynn of making false statements pertains to his interactions with Russian officials in late December -- specifically discussions about sanctions and other matters. According to the document, those statements were that: "On or about Dec 29, 2016, FLYNN did not ask the Government of Russia’s Ambassador to the United States (“Russian Ambassador”) to refrain from escalating situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day; and FLYNN did not recall the Russian Ambassador subsequently telling him that Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of his request." "On or about December 22, 2016, FLYNN did not ask the Russian Ambassador to delay the vote on or defeat a pending United Nations Security Council resolution; and that the Russian Ambassador subsequently never described to FLYNN Russia’ response to his request.” Flynn is accused of "willfully and knowingly" making the false statements to the FBI while serving in the Trump administration. lynn is the fourth person charged in connection with Mueller's investigation. A Flynn plea deal had been rumored ever since his attorneys informed President Trump's legal team they could no longer discuss the investigation. From the report: 1) He asked the Russian ambasador to pass on the request that the incoming administration would like Russia to refrain from drastic action as a result of the sanctions passed that day... What the hell is wrong with that? Of course is that was all the conversation dealt with, why the fuck did he lie about the conversation? I think (as opposed to know) that if thats all there was, he wouldnt need to co operate with mueller any further... ABC has put out a story that its all about turning on trump... http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/michael-flynn-charged-making-false-statements-fbi-documents/story?id=50849354 but Im off out, and cant verify it right now, and I have seen many comments about that part being questionable. fridays are so much fun.

I think Mueller has been pretty hush hush about what evidence he has... maybe you should preface your comments with..,," What if "...because I know you and I both have no idea what proof Mueller has for the charges. Otherwise it would be best for us to wait and see...and post bullcrap like I did... until we know more rather than make assumptions. Butch

He signed into law sanctions against Russia on August 2, 2017. begrudginly I might add Besides, even if he hadnt, congress had the votes to over ride his veto. He has just been dragging his feet about putting them into effect, and the bill he signed had provisions in it for just the eventuality, meaning he is reaching the point of either doing it or being in contempt of congress.
