I have always thought that men should be kept around just for breeding...We dont even have to have sex with them...Collect the sperm and artificially insemenate.

Way back when thats basically how the Amazon women thought. They would cut off on breast so they could use a bow and arrow better.
Greece all boys at age 7 were sent away to all male camps.many were what we call gay by today standards. They only slept with their wife on wedding night and to make babies, after sex would go back to the mens camp.Them Spartans were something else...

Utopia would be where people were reengineered to clone in laboartories, and none of us had a sex.

True equality for everyone.

amastermind - thank you for withdrawing that comment. I am sure Lotus doesnt need me to protect her, but I'm happy to step in as a third party to avoid a slanging match.

At the risk of blowing the whole thing - I'm not sure this topic is intended to be that serious? I rather think that the idea was to demonstrate to guys the situation in which their societal role would be determined by females should the tables be turned, as a way of illustrating the position in which women find themselves.

MistressSassy, I was going to ask a question and then the answer popped into my head.  Do you really find the idea of having sex with a man so abhorrent or such a chore?  Well yeah, duh.

And we should build utopiia based on that?

The basis is this.. Men see women as a necessary evil basically. A way to keep thier "seed" in play,. but then they have to take CARE of us.  This way all you have to think about is sex.. and football.. and working out :)  It's a Utopia for you too!   I'm sure we will have a female or two wanting to do the milking :)

(however, the TV will be on a generator hooked up to a bicycle so you'll be peddeling while you watch the game)

LadyEllen, I don't think the topic is serious at all.  In fact, I can hardly think of  a less serious one.  But I find it unfortunate that women think that male dominance is such a bad thing.  In fact, I know a lot of women who love it.  In well constructed patriarchal societies, women have many advantages.  And you women know better than we do just how much you can accomplish by showing some cleavage.  And men won't begrudge you for it.  So why not embrace the differences?

Actually, I think a lot of the resentment comes from the fact that we have tried to abolish the differences between the sexes.  If the tax burden were lower and a man could afford to support his family with his wife at home, probably the women would be happier too.

So I think your utopia i going in the wrong direction.

Dammit should have read yours before I posted...I have to add to it...

I have had men admit they have this overwhelming need to make babies,to carry on that family name.So much pressure has been put on them for it,so much that its hard for them to talk about.Thats the truly said thing about the difference between Women and Men is that We Women can let it out. While you guys tend to act out by cheating,gambling,drinking...etc.I am not saying ALL men just some.

Okay I am getting way to seriuos for a thread thats supposed to be in fun...LOL

Lotus, I don't get it.  Men do see women as a necessary evil, needed only to keep their seed in play.  And all that we think about is sex, sex, sex, sex, football, sex, sex, working out, sex, eating, sex.  So why isn't it utopia already?

I'm assuming in this utopia men do get to select who does the milking? If that is our one right then, I'm on board. Or else utopia just turned into full scale REVOLUTION.

amastermind - sorry, two posts as I wanted to reply to your last post separately.

I think studies have shown pretty conclusively that in general, women have superior social and communication skills compared to males. Note "in general" - of course some males are superior in these fields to some females, but generally females are better at those things. It doesnt mean men are stupid. Ignoring for a moment the nature of this thread, I would then venture to say that since supervision and management are highly requisite of effective social and communication skills, then women in general should be better at them. That they rarely rise to such positions is not indicative of the falsity of this assertion - their lack of promotion is well acknowledged to be down to other influences - some biological but mostly prejudicial.

Of course it would not be very much different in terms of confrontations etc, were women in charge of the country - we all know that. OK the grounds for such confrontation might be different, just as the nature of diplomacy would be different, compared to males. (Although it is fatuous to suggest a woman might say such a thing about another woman in public - bitching has to be done in private, after smiling sweetly at the other woman and talking nicely to her for the last hour dont you know!?).

Lions? I fail to see the similarity with human society to be honest! Why not elephants, where the herd is led by a matriarch? Humans are humans and we function as a society because we need one another to survive - we need males and females for that, so that is not the point. The point is rather that the balance of power needs to shift a little more for the benefit of all (not just women), as well as the "rules" of the game. It is just as onerous and stupid to put so much stress and responsibility on males in our society as it is to overlook and demean females when we all need one another. No one, least of all I, would seriously want men to be anything other than men - and equally I do not want to have to play at being a man in order to achieve equality - this is why the "rules" have to be changed.

In any case, I guess that equality is not what its about either. Man does not equal woman, just as woman does not equal man - however equitable opportunity, rights, value and treatment is what has to be achieved.

All of a sudden I get it.  I don't get it at all but I am not supposed to get it.  This whole topic is chick logic or a chick whine fest.  Is double chocolate chip icecream ok?

amastermind - probably the most perceptive thing you've said all evening. You've had a major breakthrough there.

Now, be a dear and get the spoons will you?

Lady Ellen, you make a lot of interesting points. But I think a lot of the distinctions you make have very little to do with gender.  I will grant you that in many ways women have much better communications skills than men.  We tend to tune out a lot, especially when women are talking and even more so when they are talking to us about anything other than sex or food.  But who is to say that communications skills are the most important skills in managment or supervision.  It is not true that woman never rise to positions.  I am not sure if Condaleza Rice is any better or worse than Colin Powell or if there is a difference, it is due to gender.

But that really isn't the point.  I will agree that most who have risen to high positions aren't the best and brightest.  I received an email referring to an article that analyzes why GM's management can be best described as low class.

I am all for a system that rewards success and punishes failure and I am all for giving women equal opportunity (in the true sense, not in an affirmative action sense)

I think that you see true human nature in its purest form in prisons for the most violent offenders.  The prisoners are pretty much void of societal etiquette, norms, etc.  You will find that in such settings, human behavior is quite similar to lion behavior.  Men are solitary and often violent.  Women tend to form "families".  There is a lot of lesbianism but it isn't sexual as much as it is bonding.  They refer to one another as sisters, aunts, and cousins.  When all is said and done (more will be said than done, but I digress) we aren't as different from animals as we would like to be.
