ORIGINAL: Kedikat I mean, what is this about? It makes no sense. Is it some Christian koan? Look at the words. It is drivel. I am sorry, I am being literal and sensible, but it makes no sense. It does make sense. You've just strained yourself too hard over the "God" issue. Take God out of it. Does it make a bit more sense now? The way I saw it, it just meant that: a.) everyone has problems b.) somewhere, someone else's problems will always be worse than your own c.) people know how to best deal with their own problems d.) be grateful that life hasn't tossed you the problems of someone who has it worse. In fact, just be grateful in general. I'm going to share something with you, Kedikat, that I find very helpful in my own life. I don't mean this rudely or condescendingly at all. I live my life by the philosophy, "Anything done in kindness, meant in kindness, should be accepted in kindness." Basically, who cares if God is mentioned in the vignette? It still has a good underlying moral. These types of stories aren't meant to be disected and put on trial. They are supposed to provide a fleeting moment of hope and inspiration in this ephemeral existance. Take the message with the kindness and grace with which it was offered. Your blood pressure will go down. I guarantee it. And if that's not enough, the phrase "Don't sweat the small stuff" is just as valid.
