Be careful, OTKkindaGirl.  You can't elimiate complex carbs and remain healty.  You might find Whole Foods Companion helpful.  If you can find it in a local bookstore.  It will tell you what positive effects various vegetables and fruits will have.  Don't overdo the fat, please.  It won't help your cholesterol level.

I then cooked my pasta .. a Penne Rigate. once the pasta was cooked I drained and dam if they didn't come right on out.

Good thing you didn't use the tortellini. Word is out that it's bratty pasta.

(Of course I still believe it was obeying a higher directive to protect Synergy's cholestrol level, but then I do tend to give pasta the benefit of the doubt...)

Oh, and I had a grilled sandwich at the munch tonight. I let the dom next to me eat all the fries. It was kind of him to protect me from all those carbs.

Rachel Ray's food only looks good...i've heard it actually tastes gross, you ever see the episode where she cooks for firemen and the faces they make while eating her steak sandwiches? lol

Anyway, I had a pepperoni, salami, pastrami and ham sandwich with brown mustard, mayo, olives, tomato and spinach on wheat bread.

That was a while ago though, i'm sorta hungry now.

I  just thought I'd interject here, that people misunderstand the Atkins diet, and believe that you can not have fruits and vegetables.  The opposite was actually true for me.  I cut out the unnatural carbs (suger filled junk, and white flower products), and the weight fell off (almost 10 inches off the waist worth).  If I wanted carbs, I grabbed an apple, or some other fruit.  If I was going to have bread, it was whole grain.  If I wanted something sweet, I'd go for watermelon, or something else natural.  Compare the amount of carbs in fruit and the carbs in candy.  You will be amazed.  You can have more fruit than you'll want, and still most likely (depending on your body) will lose weight.  As for Veggies... most green leefy veggies have next to no carbs.  I eat more broccoli, salad, cauliflower, etc than I ever had before.

As zuma said, don't eliminate the complex carbs.  Just work on reducing the unnatural junk.  Dr. Atkins said in his book, refined sugar and refined flower as we know it today, are relatively new to mankind/womankind and the consumption of them positively corrolates to the increase in obesity in the U.S.  I'm no doctor, but I believe reducing those alone, you might see results... I did.

Good luck.

Hmm, I guess I'm weird.

Men who cook don't do anything for me. I wanna do the cooking, damnit! Out of my kitchen! BLAH! Don't you know a man's place is either parked on his ass in front of the tv or parked on his ass keeping me company while I cook? (Or distracting me while I cook ... Either way.)

I made a pork loin fillet with a light barbeque flavor ... Creamy ranch mashed potatoes .... Green beans.

Last night I had a breakfast burrito and french fries on Amtrak on my way home... I will never make this mistake again, I will remember to pack a snack next time instead of having some kind of faith that there will be anything edible on the train... it was the nastiest thing I have eaten in a long long time. I only took one bite of the burrito for example.... ok, my rant is done.

Ohhhh julia, I hope your tummy survived. Some of those items they call food are just plain nasty. I wouldn't feed them to my dogs.

I agree, as much as I like to cook by the end of the day I am just too tired, way too tired. I have no problem allowing any competent person to play in my kitchen.

I haven't gotten my appetite back yet.. sighs. I am regretful I did not eat leftover rigatoni with Sinergy for lunch before I left. I didn't eat it because it had gobs of garlic and I didn't want to offend strangers on the train. And the rigatoni obeyed me when I cooked it the night before, so I am thinking it was the type of noodle Sinergy dealt with that was the problem, ... rigatoni is just a more submissive noodle, it has to be to obey me.

I baked lasagna last night.  The no-bake lasagna noodles are the most submissive of all pasta!
