Status: offline 		Okay, we recently discussed slapping and punching...let's talk NEEDLES!
 
Here's the deal with me...they were a hard limit until I met someone I trusted implicitly; his safety measures, his concern for my wellbeing…and his control.  Course, he had me flyin when he asked me if I was ready for them…so perhaps I should really question his judgment; but he always said I had no limits other than his anyway!  LOL
 
Anyway…he put in the first two or three while I watched; and suddenly he was removing them!  OMG…it was soooooooo awesome!  I had a dozen or more slipped just under my skin and out again; in a pretty design around my breasts.
 
I’m curious about who does ‘em and how?  I’ve seen pictures of breasts with 8” monsters right through the whole breast!  That just can’t be good, huh?  I’m afraid of sticking them deeper than the fat layer…like…perpendicular to the skin.  Surely it’s not a good idea to go through muscle and other tissue; what if ya hit a vein or artery or something? 
 
Someday, I’d like to tie pretty feathers to some needles before they’re used on me and get a really cool design created on my body.  I have a Domme friend who does suture work on folks…and applies beads as she works.  Lordy, that’s really neat, too!  Oddly, I have no piercings or tattoos!  LOL
 
Anyway…let’s talk experience and education here; on the positive effects of needle-work.

Status: offline 		 I am not particularly scared of needles, but I would have to find out what the other person planned to do with them specifically, if they wanted to use them when they "played" with me. Because I have zero experience with this type of "play" - and some things might be more of a squick for me than others...

Well, that makes perfect sense to me.  I've only had them in my breasts...and NOT through my nipples.  I'm SUCH a big baby!  Still...I've learned never to say never. 
 
I like your attitude!  I have to tell you...I'm glad I let him do it; it was awesome!

Status: offline 		Needles really don't do anything for me.  They hurt a bit going in and then they just irritate me. 

However, I have lots of friends who love them.  I definitely can enjoy the artistry involved- threading bells on skin for dancing later, making designs with the needles, even threading little letter-blocks to make words sewn on people's skin.  Some of them even make a game of it to see how many needles they can take on a particular section.

There's play piercing, permanent piercing, suturing or sewing body parts together, medical play and so much else that can be grouped into the "needle play family."  And then there's the level of hook pulls and suspension which I hear can cause a great spiritual experience for many people.

Status: offline 		Well, Bearlee, there are things I have said I just can't picture myself ever trying, but needles hasn't been one of them. Good to know it was a good experience for you - I may well try them out (when I get a partner).

LA, as always, I always appreciate the thread gatherings you do - there is so much good information on so many topics here from the boards, and it's nice that someone is willing to do this for people.

Thank you!!!   I'll go read, too...but in spite of the 'duplication'; I enjoy what the people I've come to know think about this stuff, too.  I post such stuff mostly to get to know them, better; ya know?

Needles and sutures are my fav kind of play. i haven't found anything else yet that makes me fly. So far for the most part they have been placed just under the skin but have been inserted staight into my butt and the underside of my breast. i wouldn't let just anyone do needle play on me and certainly not straight in. Needles in muscle is done all the time in the form of shots. As for veins and artieries it can happen and if one does it often and long enough chances increase that it will. The Dom has to keep a cool head if this happens and hold pressure until the bleeding stops.

i've had beads,bows and flowers sewn on me and i love to be able to show off His handy work. i also love it when He threads ribbon around the needles. The Dom i'm seeing now loves to combine needle play with a TENS unit which is fun too

Status: offline 		In my world of spiritual SM, needles are a ritual. For each needle inserted, the pain becomes an offering and a representation of something you would like to give up (like the fear of needles! ). When they are removed, the item you declared for that needle is released to the Universe. Or, you can work it in reverse, creating a bridge to the Universe with the insertion and claiming something of yours with the removal (such as personal power).

I've both given and taken needles. For decoration, you can hotglue items into the hollow hubs. Here are some pictures of decorative things. The first is of me and my ritual. I was giving up some pain from the divorce and taking on some power through my owl totem.

These are message boards - people toss out new ideas all the time, no matter how much has been written on any topic. At least I think so, Bearlee - so I hope you don't think  I meant that. It's a great topic!

The  possible exception to re-visiting thread topic ideas, of course, in my mind anyway, might be the never-ending topic that crops up: "What is the difference between a submissive and a slave"? hehe. 
I don't even read those threads anymore - they are just sooo predictable. But - they are undoubtedly helping someone, I guess.

The only thing I have to add here is that needle play is one of a very few areas where, if a girl of mine has a burning curiosity to try them, or has already tried and gets great enjoyment from them, it is something where I will find someone who's skill I trust and place her in his/her hands for the duration of that play.

i'd never thought of needle play as spirtual but i see now that it can be. When my last relationship ended i'd decided to take a break from the lifestyle. It didn't take long before i felt i really needed a good needle scene. i asked a Friend if He would do one for me. It was very cleansing. i'd post a pic if i knew how lol

I have a fear of needles but they still happen, usually when I am a little *away*.......Today, they appeared while I was very much *here*, for once..... and I was VERY aware of the fact..... I have to admit that I was terrified. The expression on his face was clear and cool.

I didn't look at all.... they were in my breasts and labia.

It certainly demonstrated the *no choice*......and I certainly will not forget it in a hurry.

Status: offline 		Considering I am contemplating doing a suspension towards the end of next year, I am rather excited about the prospect of doing some extended needle and play piercing scenes. I'm also planning on starting down the inking and piercing path myself.

This weekend I might ask the couple who host the munch to do a needle scene with me. They are rather experienced with it, in fact his wife pros with them.

I usually only post on topics that I really have something of value to add, or to make an interesting (to me, anyway) joke.

This is one of the few areas that I don't have any experience.  Japanese bondage is another.  The latter I would like to try.  This one, I'm not so sure.

I think it is one thing to know someone with experience in an area we are uncomfortable to 'have at it' (a deliberately bad expression) with our partner so he/she can have the experience.  I have always thought, however, that if my partner wanted to have an experience that I am not qualified that I would learn that skill.  First, ultimately it means more to my partner to have 'me' do something with her.  Second, it gives me experience for the future.

Of course doms can have limits as well, but I believe ours should be softer than our partner's.  We should fewer taboos, IMHO.

No, I haven't done needles.  Seen pictures of it.  Might be cool, might not.  But if I was with someone who really wanted/needed to know, I would prefer to learn than to feel that she was somehow 'outgrowing' me.

Status: offline 		I'm scared spitless of needles.  Probably because I have tiny little veins that roll around, so nurses always hurt the sh*t out of me when they go to draw blood.  Huge bruises, lots of pain.  Not good.
 
Anyone who approaches me with a needle needs to be ready to defend themselves.  I go into fight or flight mode.
 
Oddly enough, I've accidentally gotten a chunk of glass stuck in my finger once and watched the blood with fascination.  It's not so much injury or blood that freaks me out.  It's the fact that someone is INTENTIONALLY hurting me and I'm not allowed to fight back.  I've been this way since I was a little kid.

Fire, the first picture can’t be found…but jason’s feathers are beautiful!!!  Wow, absolutely stunning, in fact!  I agree, the spiritual side was not something I’d heard before…but I enjoy such rituals.  Thank you again.
 
Raven…you never cease to amaze me!  In spite of being phobic about needles, you’d still let your girl enjoy them.  You have to be one of the most wonderful Dom’s I’ve ‘known’.  Speaking of awesome…you are!

Oh, speaking of hooks (OMG)…I am reminded of a DVD I have where Cleo Dubois threads elastic around a girl’s needles and ‘dances’ with her; holding the ‘ribbons’ while the girl leaned back…swaying to and fro…held by those needles through her breasts.  It’s something to see.
 
I'm scared to death of having them in my labia or even through nipples but one of my best friends is a Doctor of Acupuncture and one of the most Sadistic Doms I know.  (I luv him to bits and trust him implictly)  I am reminded of agirl...generally speaking I'm sure I'll have no say about this...should the time come and he wants to do this!  LOL

Status: offline 		The best part about needles is the happy, floaty endorphin high I get about 15 minutes after the first few have been inserted. Its a feeling of  total well-being and euphoria. Love it.  I've had them done on my back, chest and breasts and each time I get the same side effect.  Like you, I wouldn't want them too deep...just deep enough to get those endorphins flowing
