Hi. This is my first time posting here. My submissive and I have desired the perfect third for so long (who hasn't) that when we heard of so many people's successes with this site I had her sign up. She has been managing the account fine, weeding through the "online" player people and some other skeeves, but about a week ago she came across a girl as young as us, and seemingly perfect in everyway. She was indeed looking to relocate and be a live-in, precisely what we desire. She wanted to split the costs, and she was coming from quite far by car. She hit my soft spot with the car, I have a restored 86 Trans-Am I let candide tool around in and this girl had a restored 87 Firebird her profile said she was not willing to leave behind at any costs.

I have to admit I was mildly nervous about the money in the first place, but we talked over the phone and instant messager many times in these past few days and she and candide got along well too. I know in order to pick up Western Union, you have to show photo id, so I felt there was some sort of upside to that, you know it would turn away fraudulent wanna-be's just trying to weasel $250 out of a stranger.

What is that little amount of money really? Has anyone else seen this? Perhaps for larger amounts, had it actually happen to them? I mean, here I am waiting on her arrival tomorrow, I rearranged the house, bought some things for her, candide did so many nice little things to make her feel welcome - we did everything a person could to welcome another person into their home and we have no idea if she's coming or not. I'm relatively certain, due to lack of communication on her part that she has absconded with my money. Is there any recourse available to me? I can't just go to her house, if this is her real address, as it is some distance and would cost me more than I have already spent to do so.

Thanks for listening with a sympathetic ear and not telling me how dumb I am for believing everything a strange beautiful girl I met on a website said....

she was 'met' a WEEK ago ONLINE and you expect things to work with her relocating and moving in with you.

I'd say the money issue is the least of your problems!

Well, if she shows up and turns out to be all that you seek you have invested wisely. If she doesn't....well....$250 bucks is a pretty cheap lesson and next time you will most likely take a bit more time or caution. Life is all about taking risks. The only thing that we can really do is to make decisions from the most informed perspective that is possible and hope for the best. Nothing ventured....nothing gained. I hope that it turns out for the best for you.

A turn of events

Where your only issue was how to make your perfect new beta feel welcome?

Your best first step would be to get a lawyer and get some official type letter sent to her to return the money. But seriously- consider it money paid to your future common sense fund and tuition to the school of hard knocks.

Hard to say, but I am a pessimist. Seems in my case, I have a 97 acre farm, a house and so on, and I find it rather incredulous that I would have to pay someone to come to me. I have thought about those deals, they always have the spanish prisoner clause in them, that something must take place in hurried fashion. I suppose a copy of a drivers license....a signed contract for the money, or WU for pickup somewhere along the route over half-way could slow it down.

Oopsey...guess I missed that "week" part. That does seem like a bit of rushing it. I agree with LA....money paid to your future common sense fund.

My thinking on this has been if the girl is willing to go to you,to live in your house,to serve you in every way as a 24/7 kept slave,she should be willing to pay the relocation costs,since you'll be paying for the rest.I am not totally aware of your situation,but I always flinch when someone says they need money to relocate,even after they are told that slavery will absolve them of personal financial responsibilities.I understand that all situations are different and that there are risks involved,but I would never send anyone I had not met in person any amount of money.I would offer to reimburse the person upon arrival.

I would NEVER send someone money from the net!

When I see those profiles of women, "I have a precious van that I just cannot leave behind, I have one week to get out, please understand, I just need some money for gas...."

I think to myself "surely there is no one stupid enough to get sucked into that bullshit!!"

I would just like to thank you all for your rediculously pointless droll commentary. Obviously I have already learned any lesson here to be learned, the point of my writing was not for you to excercise your wit in stupid tax commentary, but to see if anyone had anything constructive to say. This young lady's profile is still active, perhaps it is happening to others as we speak.

If you just met this girl online a Week ago and she has decided to pack up everything and move in with two strangers to be in a 24/7 relationship- I'm thinking ahuh you just got suckered out of some money.
I mean I just cannot believe any person is that dumb - one week online? You two could be wackos (Not saying you are) just saying how does she know for sure your not.. Or how do you know she isnt? But..........common sense

Tip of the hat to LuckyAlbatross for a beautiful job of hitting the nail on the head.

Constructive comments were made as well. Your only hope for a return on the money is having enough hard information about the girl to enable an attorney to seek recourse through the courts. However, that will likely hinge on what contract was agreed upon, if any. Hopefully you saved any e-mails where arrangements were discussed. For the most part though, you are pretty well left to waiting and hoping that this person is that one in a million that honorably follows through on what they state is their intent.

Caution, is without a doubt, the key word anytime dealing with anyone who expresses haste in fleeing one situation for another. No doubt, everyone learns from others mistakes, and that is true in this case. At the very least, consider it a lesson well learned and that the financial loss was not greater.

What strikes me as the critical error here is not the amount of time, nor the nievete of choosing to send money but the assumption that the perfect anything is just sitting out there waiting to be "found." The fact is that I often read profiles of those "seeking to find." I'd also like to point out that hiring an attorney is costly. Small claims courts judgements are usually just that...judgements...and collection is generally your responsibility. You would likely pay far more than 250 bucks to get your 250 bucks back. So unless getting it back is a matter of principle to you....I would just write it off.

This sounds like a typical internet scam to me. Honestly it really sucks. You might want to check the IP of her email addy if she email you outside of this site. Chances are she wasn't from where she claimed she was. And the chances of finding her are slim esspecially since you used wester union. BTW Western Union is the scamers favorite choice of payment along with money grams. I'm sorry this has happened to you. If you would like to learn more you can visit 419eaters.com . I would also report her profile to the mods so she doesn't do this to others.

As it happens, Iknow exactly which profile/poster you are talking about -- but not because I sent her money, lol... Rather, becasue those kind of ads and scam artists really piss me off, and I follow them through Cme. Of lately, this particular one now claims to be a virgin!!!! And yes, I remember the Firebird too, although it's also been a van...

As others have said, you just paid tuition to the school of hard knocks, the common sense fund... The next time, remember the old adage: "A fool and his money are quickly parted."

Congratulations: you just grew up a bit more and got a little wiser!
