dominant men can't seem to meet the need of an intellectual companion, or someone to do fun things with.  every hike has to end with me being tied to a tree (hey, don't get me wrong...i LOVE that, but again, sometimes JUST hiking to the top of a mountain and having a picnic lunch is a good time).

Hello A/all,

I consider myself a Dominant male.  What I was seeking in a partner was somebody I could have an intellectual discussion with over dinner.  While it is fun to bang her pie-hole while I moan about dish patterns, tie her to trees on hikes, or whatever, those activities are something I do in a relationship, not how I define a relationship.

BDSM and sex are parts of a relationship for me.  To summarize: Without engaging my big head, Mr. Tiny is not allowed out to play.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

What exactly does the word "slut" mean anyway, BTW? I've never quite figured that one out.

One of the women I work with told me that "cunt" stands for "Cannot Understand Normal Thinking."

We have very odd conversations.

Susan, people who are into Harley Davidsons call that a "Lifestyle" too.

Um...Popeye, don't take this the wrong way but being a biker is a lifestyle, it is something you are all the time.

That does not mean you do not live a somewhat normal life but for most it does color the way they live in most respects.

On the other hand like the tee shirt says;

"Twenty thousand dollars and twenty miles does not make you a biker"

Twice, I meant that in a positive way.

It is ok, Popeye, i just get a little prickly on the subject, lol.

I think riding a Harley on the weekends makes you a biker as much as buying a flogger and swinging it at a play party once a month makes you (not you personally) a Master.

Not that there is anything wrong with either of those things.

But there are some to whom being a biker or being in a 24/7 M/s relationship is how they live. It colors their day to day lives on a constant basis.

<fast reply>

I just live my life day by day...and deal with what life throws my life on a daily basis. I make plans that get canceled... or go off with out a hitch... just depends on what's going on or not. The "lifestyle" is in my life daily... but reality is my main lifestyle...and anything else is what I allow to enter into my "lifestyle".

Sorry susie, the response was to the board.  Not to you and your Master.  I dont give a shit about your relationship, sorry.  Submissive to Him, Dominant at work.  Covered that in my post.  Its not all about you and couldn't care less.  Was answering the OP.  Twice.  Everyone sure does love to talk about their own relationships when people are trying to discuss ideas in general.  Everyone's favorite topic.  I haven't mentioned ONE of my relationships or anyones.  I am talking in generalities.  Egos.

If you wished to reply in general you should not have replied to my post. By replying to me you were answering my post and not the posts in general. I can assure you that my post had nothing to do with egos at all. I used the my personal relationship to illustrate that your generalisation about submission was, in my view, incorrect. Surprisingly many people use personal experiences to back up their views on issues.

I think the term "lifestyle" is useful in BDSM because it helps us define our choices.  Perhaps lifestyle is too rigid a term for some people.  i like it because i am a slave to my Master...always.  Whether i'm at work, in a meeting, running kids to music practice, or reading a book, i am His slave.  Whether i am serving Him in the moment, or engaged in activities completely unrelated to Him, there is always that thread that keeps me tied to Him as His slave. i may not be acting as a slave throughout most of my day at times, but even in the most vanilla of activities, i am His slave, and i never lose consciousness of that.  So, this is a lifestyle to me.  For others, BDSM may be an activity they engage in.  i think for slaves in general, (forgive me fellow slaves if that is an overgeneralization) it is a lifestyle, because when you've made that committment to a Master, it colors every facet of your life, no matter what you are doing.

susie,

There isn't a way to post the would list "reply in general".  If someone uses fast reply the post will list "in reply to" and the name of the last person who posted on that page.  This is the reason that many use the phrase "fast reply" at the begininning of their posts when responding to the general topic.

Well, yeah, but the thing is that a slave can serve me much better by performing her best in her career, education, family or whatever it is. If it takes her putting me out of her mind for 8 hours a day in order to concentrate on solving complicated problems, so be it.

All I ask is that she wear something I give her plus always drink with her left hand. Drinking with the left hand is something that requires thought and will calm her during high tension working lunches where eating is the last thing on everyone’s mind.

I understand this. However, it is normal when replying to something specific that you make that clear in your post. The original posting I was referring to looked as though it was a reply to me and also addressed issues which I brought up in my post.

The fact I am a Dominant in this lifestyle doesnt mean I stop being human, all these things we do in vanilla life are of necessity, I just happen to be into BDSM. I like this quote  '' you put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.. you can put it into a glass, it becomes the glass, be water My friend..  ~ Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee quotes are nice, but I like quotes from Patrick Swayze in "Roadhouse." He said wise things like "opinion vary."

My favorite Roadhouse quote was "It is two words combined to elicit an emotional response."

Kinda my approach to anybody trying to insult me in life.

My second (In response to somebody calling a man's mother a whore) was "Is she?"

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.
