Personally I don't care wether a person even has a photo up at all. Two of my favourite CM posters do not have photos on their profiles. I care more about the person they reflect in their words than any dolled up photographic image.

I agree, and I also find that after time people paint a very accurate picture of themselves with the words they use.

I didn't see that the op's original photo was all that bad that he's guilty of throwing stones while living in a glass house.  If anything, it seemed a little too "over done" to me.

But, his tone was a bit offensive, which I suppose is why he's received the response he has.  The fact of the matter is, there are many perfectly sound reasons for sending or posting in a profile less than perfect pictures. I explained mine and others have explained theres.

*shrugs*

Hello There,
My response is I do not need make up to be beautiful. I do not paint my face, curl, dye or blow dry my hair. I personally feel I'm feminine and beautiful without all the fake crap society convinces us we need superficially to be pretty.
Real beauty is not hidden under a mask , but rather exposed in the harshest light for all the world to see. It's from inside, not something so superficial as what you wear on your skin.
I'm not saying people should not be allowed to choose to accent what God gave them if it makes them feel better. I'm just saying it's an accent not the meat of true beauty and should be viewed as such.

You say "I am not talking about a glamour shot.  Just present yourself with respect to the recipient - Me... ".

Why on earth should I do anything to please you, more than to please myself if I don't even know you?

I say if you're going to be happy you need to get over you think the whole world of subs are here for your pleasure alone. This is my comment and advice you say you seek of us..
Your expectations of strangers is way out of touch with reality. You will only continue to find disappointment with these unrealistic expectations of others.

Hey zumala did you know keeping a preying mantis was the one bug she should have never let you keep? It's a federal offense to keep one in confinement.
Too funny the one she let you keep was protected by Federal law. This tickled me to the point I had tears rolling down my eyes. Thanks for the chuckles today. I needed that.

OUCH!..you have gotten loaded with buckshot today!..IMO..your picture is alright, however it shows nothing about you,the focal point is your sunglasses, which makes it unexciting, uninteresting, but ok..(trying here to decide if I am in a good mood or a bad mood..lol)..I am thinking however that maybe you should put more emphasis on what is written to you in e-mail along with interests rather than your main focus being upon the picture sent, for it truly indicates to me that there runs a wee bit of shallow to you...I am sorry that someone sent you such a horrifying picture that it made you feel it necessary to post what you feel is a more desireable protocol...be well...Tempting

Really?  I was not aware of that, so I'll go do a little research on it now.  How long has it been protected, and for what reason?  Where is it listed?  Could be that this was before it was protected, for whatever reason.  I was 9, so that would have been in 1986 or so.

Edited to note:  I did some checking.  It is not illegal to keep a praying mantis.

G'afternoon all:

*wildly applauds Phoenixandnika and onestandingstill* Said better than I ever could. LaTigresse makes a valid point as well. No matter how pretty the picture, their words and actions will portray them more accurately as people.

On a slight tangent, this is the precise reason I don't list any of my BDSM interests on my profile. I wish to be viewed as person, not a life support to a fetish. The only qualities my picture can tell you is that I have a nice smile. The words themselves are the real meat and potatoes. Now, if only the boys would ~read~ it! *chuckling*

Stay safe, play nice, & share your toys w/ others...

I was worried about putting my face on this site, but I have done it. I still have the feeling it's going to bite me in the ass.
I have a difficult time finding pics that I like, usually if I think I look good I'm showing too much cleavage. lol. I don't normally wear low cut things, but I am sensitive about my weight and generally if I wear something a little low cut no one focuses on my belly.
I agree with some other posters have said about looking in the pic the way you do normally. I would hate for someone to see my pic and then be dissappointed when they met me in person.

Edited: because I can't type today.

LOL even more funny. I did check too as my Dad the Landscaper had told me this my whole childhood. You indeed are correct it's not against the law. Just a rumor I fell for. That indeed is funny. I've never questioned it before.
Thanks,
Suzanne

No problem.    Biology just happens to be where my interests and knowledge base lie.  I'm sort of a nerd/geek when it comes to nature.  Evidentally this particular bit of misinformation is fairly popular, onestandingstill, so don't feel too silly about having been mislead.

hum well i think people should be themselves. and i don't you need to put makeup to be beautiful, i think that's american society conditioning. it's their choice so they can do what they want, if you don't like it i think it's easier to just ignore it than get worked up about it.

i didn't see you got to it before i did suzanne. it's nice to see another lady who is comfortable with themselves to be natural. but just to make it presice i know there are those ladies who are comfortable with themselves and choose makeup but that's more common.

I honestly see nothing wrong with wishing people would present themselves nicely in personal-ad photographs. I wouldn't be apt to respond to soemone that looked unkempt, no matter how well-worded the profile.

Oh i could never put a picture of me all done up. I might overwhelm the poor mortals and have them begging at my feet for eternity. How tiresome would that be?

LMAO

Ok, seriously now *grins*  I hate most pictures of me. If i actually get one that i think isn't too bad I'll post it. I think there are maybe 5 or 6 in existance, other then my wedding photo's that I actually like. So y'all just have to take it or leave it. *S*  I try not to be too hideous, but really if ya don't like it, I say quickly move to the next profile and remember not to look again.

Most the pictures on here are pretty good. Some are a lil wierd but that's just my opinion. Some are awsome. Beauty is totally in the eye of the beholder and who am i to judge. If the person posting it thinks they look great then that is all that really matters.

Another point to all that Gddss, is that sometimes people will only put forth the effort to look nice if you're going to see them, Ie you'll be coming over at 8 gotta look great. And that can be just as misleading or make you want to reevaluate as well.

Twice happy I'd rather know what I am honestly getting than what *could be* with an hour of grooming.
quote:

As I see it? If I see a less than complimentary picture? It gives me a clue as to the person's lifestyle, their standards on cleanliness, their self image, etc. If someone is neglectful or poor in those areas, it's an indication I may want to re-evaluate having anything to do with that person. So, having a "bad" picture is as informative as a "good" picture.

Another great other aspect to this whole thing is, that I am overweight, wand while I carry it well I make no effort to hide it, so if someone says push off you're not for me cause of my weight I say to them their not for me either, I show how I am and who I am and I try to post a picture that I personally am satisfied w/ith, because I am satisfied with myself for the most part. If someone else don't like how I look it's not my problem.

so then we shouldn't like your picture then? Because to me you look half drugged and you look pouty and petulant.

Not true you say, you're not drugged and you're not pouting? Well i would of thought so. if I was going to judge a picture you look  druged in my opnion.

You can't judge someone by a picture alone.
