Good evening folks.  I just noticed something, and also gave my kudos to the individual.  A lot of photos here, I am not picking on any one individual, appear hurried or rushed.  Don't get me wrong, I do love the nudes and action pictures.  Seeing the whole package or her displaying her oral talents are well received.  But, if you are going to just take a picture for the purpose of putting a face to a name, clean up, do your hair, put on makeup (within reason). It is like an informal date, you would not want me to meet you at the door looking shabbily or unkempt, what makes one think I/we appreciate the same.  I am not talking about a glamour shot.  Just present yourself with respect to the recipient - Me...
I'd like to hear comments from others on this; from slave/sub to Dom/Domme

Yes, you have your preferences. Just as many have preferences such as not seeing a photo with someone wearing sunglasses with blurry edges.

I would never post an explicit or even suggestive photo on a site like this.  The pic I usually send out is one that seems to "capture" what I look like on most days.  Personally, I dont send out great pics because I don't want to risk misleading anyone.

Think about it this way.  In real life, we rarely look our absolute best.  If I were considering dating someone I knew socially on a casual basis, its likely that I would have seen him a couple times, and, its likely that some times he would have been more together than others.  People in real life are just like that.

Thats how I think about it when sending a pic.  I choose one that seems like the me someone would see if they were walking down the street.

As stated, I wasnt looking for glamour shots, just nice presentations.  I guess I must be a little old school.

I cant see myself posting a nude pic on the internet at all. I do post pics that show me looking decent..However if i chat with someone for a while, they might see pics of me on my not so good days just they dont have the impression that im always trying to look good cause its not like that at all. Sometimes thru my daily life, i just dont have the time to put on makeup and fix my hair.

I think the absolute worst photo I ever saw on CM was of a woman laying in bed in her nightgown, looking ill, her hair askew.. she looked to be about 70.  It reminded me of my mother in the years when she was strung out on prescription medication and lay in bed all day. 
 
On another note- Doug, Dammit!  Your photo is blurry as hell.

I try to be creative and fairly cute in my pictures. I take new pictures every month or so for internet purposes. It's not how I look everyday, but I could look like that in five minutes. lol...better in 10 minutes.

The pictures I like the most and draw my eye are creative and fun. It should tell something about the person in one shot.

I do not see your makeup doug, or even how your physique looks at all. You are not even smiling! Your hair isn't even curled!

On Edit, I do not think anyone should care what another is looking for, they should present themselves the way they want to

Is it that big of a deal in the greater scheme of things?

Someone who sends a photo in which they appear...unkempt to your own liking...is letting you see what you're getting upfront: how they dress and clean up on any given day.

Personally, I'd rather just see what someone really looks like. If I don't like what I see, it won't matter whether it's an outstanding picture or a snap from a webcam, after all.

JMO.

I do not think it is a big deal at all.  If someone wants to present themselves as an unkept slob, with an unkept background in their profile pic, then perhaps they are a slob.  Some people are attracted to that.. and some are not! 
 
Who said they have no time to do their hair and put on makeup?  Do you have time to dress, or eat?

So basically...you get to play it safe but the woman should make herself look as alluring as possible to capture your attention, and at the same time put HERSELF at risk?

I hate make up and never wear it. My hair is short and simple to care for because I hate futzing (is that a word?) with hair. It's not part of who I am. I do, however, try to look presentable. Not fancy, but clean and presentable.

And, contrary to how I look in my picture, I do get too busy to eat sometimes, though if I'm outside of my home I am always dressed. Not being dressed outside in my state can be dangerous, especially in the winter.
