I challenge all collarme members to take advantage of the new amazon donation method now available on collarme to contribute WHATEVER YOU CAN SPARE to the maintenance of this site. I'm still boggled at the thought of the cost of the bandwidth, which can only be increasing as we get more members daily (the daily numbers are really staggering).

I gave 50 (it's all I could afford). I figure I've been using this site for free for about a year, it doesn't hurt me to give back. In fact it feels pretty damned good!

I hope you feel similarly.

Barring monetary contributions, I invite you to use this thread as a thank you place, as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, MizSuz.

It didn't take long, and it did feel good. I've gotten more out of this site than a lot of things I've spent 50 bucks on.

When I saw the donations link I thought ' what a nice way to raise the money necessary to run the site, and how much better than other services. '

The feeling on these message boards is very pleasant and good humoured, not the nastiness found elsewhere.

I did my bit. I suggested a while ago they charge a membership fee. This is a way around it. It will more than likely bring in more revenue this way as well.

Ever since I donated last night. Collarme now has my full name on the top of every page.

How do I get rid of that? Also what is the idea behind e-mailing them so they keep a copy of the donation? Do we need that?

I wonder if it will go away if you delete cookies. Is it your real name or screen name? I don't want any association between Collarme and my real name.

Personally (and I've said this for some time now) I hope the owners of CM put some nice coin in the bank off of this (although, whatever they take won't be remotely equivalent to the value they've given to all of us), and for those that have asked for new features and functions...if all of us (as MizSuz suggests) give what we can, in any amount, we'll be more likely to see those features.

I'm excited that this is, in a fashion, becoming a funded site...this has to have cost these owners YUUUUUGE coin!!!

I can't wait to see what these folks have up their sleeve once they can afford to do some of the things I'd guess they want to do.

Congrats on the move towards funding this site....YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!
