The problem the left has is that no one really trusts it because it is too dictatorial and people feel their freedom is more secure with the centre right even if that has to include some distasteful right wing elements. You're falling into the trap of the media/establishment presentation of the left. You're right in that the left is not trusted. You're wrong on the reason why. It is because of a century of propaganda aimed at preserving Conservative Britain. Most people don't know what the left actually stands for and quite frankly don't care because the Government does their thinking for them. I've seen some of your other posts on the left being dictatorial and thought-controlling - the irony shouldn't be lost on you that our Government is in Iraq against the wishes of the majority - how have they managed to do this? Thought-controlling and dictatorial, perhaps? Those on the left tend to be thoughtful and reflective, trying to understand the root causes of a solution rather than react to every little thing with draconian measures - that alone should tell you those on the left want to see real solutions not just easy, lazy answers. You're right in that people do feel more comfortable with the centre-right - because the media and establishment is centre-right and they have used and abused their position to completely demonise the left - you know, the same old tired lines that the left are "thought controlling" when they are the ones advocating humanitarianism, internationalism and equality (while the centre-right put their policies into action with the inequality of privatisation and imperialism). Regards
