popeye, there is and has been for a number of years now a World Wide Nursing shortage. This is a multi layered shortage, from it being a forced shortage due to schools keeping entrance limited, the nature of the work, it is very unsafe and many end up injured and not able to work again. It is not just the phycialities of the job but the exposure to every disease we know of and those we have no idea about yet. Then there is the shift work and working 365 days of the year, it is a strange group who are willing to leave their family on Christmas day and go to work. On top of that is the pay scale, now honestly I feel I make an ok wage, however I am in Canada and I believe I earn more than many in the USA do. We do get some extra money for working weekends nights holidays etc, however truly is it enough? Then again what is enough? Should one who is working with humans make less or more than a construction worker, electrician .....the list goes on. Generally in regard to the Nursing shortage, the big countries, US, UK, Canada are stealing from the countries that are less advantaged such as Philipines and the orient. Owned
