WhyteRavenne -> CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 12:56:17 PM)

I'm sure I'm not the only one with other lifestyle preferences on CM. (Which, I might add, is so far a lot of fun, since I've met some wonderful people to chit with). Some having the only link to the other lifestyle, being you.
My question is this: I have been on other sites, gone to many m&g's for many of my lifestyles and hobbies. I just wonder, on average, how many sites do you have a profile posted on?
(my answer, right now, is only CM.. since I'm taking a break from online dating.. lol. I just happen to love the forums here, and I'm so noob... er, new. yeah, new.)

Hello A/all,

I have a few profiles out there on various sites, but I love the message boards on Collarme so I tend to hang out here.

I am not much of an internet dating type person in any event.  When I was looking for a relationship 2 years ago I took up dancing at a local studio.

Just me, could be wrong, etc.

Sinergy

I was on ALT.com for the longest time and never got 1 message!
Then I started examining the site and noticed that there's a ratio of TWENTY to ONE (20 to 1) Males to females on that site!
Don't waste your money on that site!!!

MASTERRocker -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 1:26:11 PM)

Just two - one on Yahoo 360, which has been there for ages - (lots of friends) and here (new)

MasterFireMaam -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 1:31:37 PM)

I have a profile here, one on slaveregistry and a more vanilla one on myspace. I also have a website. My profile is pretty much the same on CM, SR and the website. The myspace is more for dating, but I talk about who I am (hell, my ID is masterfire, so I have to! LOL). I used to be on alt a LONG time ago..like 4 years, I think. I wasn't meeting the kind of people I wanted to meet, so I gave it up. Maybe I should go back and post a CM-like profile. I had a profile for dating at AFF (adult friend finder), too, that was very similar to my myspace page. I met some really nice guys there...still dating one, as a matter of fact, even though I signed off in March.

I don't look at profiles as a way of enticing just anyone. All of my profiles are abrupt and to-the-point. It makes for a GREAT weeding tool. If someone contacts me, it's because what I've said resonates with them OR they're total boobs. Weeding the total boobs is easy. ;-)

MYSPACE counts?  lol.. I use that for blogging!  Literally...

LadyHugs -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 1:37:01 PM)

Dear WhyteRavenne, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I'm on CM.com mainly for friendly exchanges, as I'm so fussy about what I am seeking and its asking a lot.  So, I really don't look.

I'm also another site but, again--I am hard to fit but, have managed to meet a nice gentleman, who is a body builder and submits rather nicely but, he isn't slave material.

I've had better luck meeting people on A O L.

Forums are rather fun and more orderly than chat rooms.

Respectfully submitted,
Lady Hugs

LaTigresse -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 1:41:40 PM)

I have not been looking anytime I have found myself in a relationship, it just happened.

My new love had to practically hit me upside the head with something heavy and painful to get me to even begin to take her seriously. Then I still didn't believe she was serious, "you are interested in MEEE??? yeahhhhhhhhh right!! MEEEEEEEE?????" with the laughter of disbelief and shock. I mean, I know I can be kinda cool and okay, not exactly paperbag scary ugly but you have got to know the whole story to see the reason for my reaction. I would say that the first year or more I knew her I didn't believe she was being straight with me. Somewhere in there I gave the ex-girlfriend another shot, a new girl another and then pretty much gave up. Of course alot of that caused some problems (understatement of the decade for me) but for some reason she and I keep having that weird pull. I have finally decided to see where the ride will take me and give it a shot.

If you live in most any large city you can get off line and check out realtime groups  , we have some Dungeons here in South Florida for real time meetings. Also kink exist all around you just need to pick up on the hints from someone you meet sometimes.

LadyHugs -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 1:52:04 PM)

Dear DOM33416, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I live near Washington, DC; so I do interact with the local scenes and gatherings here, from Master-slave conferences, MAL (Mid-Atlantic Leather), BR (Black Rose' conventions), The Crucible-a nice dungeon for public/membership use, The DC Eagle, The Baltimore Eagle, Green Lantern, private parties and places.

It is easy to get a 'date'-- or willing play partners but, they are not the slave material I'm looking for.  Don't get me wrong--there are a good many lads and lassies out there but, none that has struck the right cords as of yet.

Respectfully submitted,
Lady Hugs

I've been on Alt for quite a while, met a few people, but nothing too wonderful.

I used to frequent A O L chatrooms, but it's difficult for me to show myself well there.

I was recommended to come here, and to post.  One way or another, I think I'll be here a while.

I go to IC... informedconcent and fetishiceland.com

speednut -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 2:56:18 PM)

I'm about to fall off my chair, lets see, Alt.com, Bondage.com, Aff, and here, kind of a shotgun approach. I enjoy the chats on some sites but I prefer this one.

Hi Ravenne,

The collarme.com community has been a very good contact source. Other sites I'd list near the top would be livejournal and myspace.

There are many other community sites I've joined under the same namesake, but the aforementioned three seem to be the most widely recognized. It's important to note that every site I have ever had success with has been free to join and use. I don't pay to acquire membership anywhere.

Lorelei115 -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 4:39:09 PM)

I've garnered more interest with my Yahoo profile than anywhere else. (except collarme). It helps if you go through and join interest groups on yahoo, that way other people in the same interest groups can find you. And believe me, their interest groups get VERY detailed. Also, you have to have messenger in order for people to contact you. A pain, but I run a program that incorporates ALL the major IM programs, so its not such a big deal.

I was on alt.com a long time ago... its good if you have the extra money to throw around. All in all, I prefer the free spiritedness of CM.

MsKatHouston -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 4:41:53 PM)

on here, the b one, used to be on alt, ditched that, have a yahoo 360 and that's about it.

I started on usenet groups and a BBS called The Connection way back in the mid-1990's.  Then I got onto Alt.com but I'm not there now.  Now I'm just on CM.

But I don't confine my search to online.  I also keep eyes and ears open at...

Punk clubs.

Goth clubs.

Fetish nights.

Soon to be visiting a munch.

The library, museum, art gallery, computer clubs, photograpy clubs.  If a potential partner and I have mutual interests in art, science, and history then that's the good places to bump into them.

I mean what are the chances that I'd meet another kinkster in a vanilla setting.  One never knows.

stockingluvr54 -> RE: CM is wonderful.. but, where else do you look? (9/25/2006 5:17:47 PM)

Here and alt and a local Yahoo group is where I have profiles. I'll let the Alt one expire soon....just a couple of pros contacted me and nobody from there has ever responded to any e's I may have sent except for one who told me about this joint...so that was good I guess! Had one "hit" (lol) here so far and we've become good chattin friends and she's helped me out ALOT (thanks). Seems crusty old bastards just aren't in high demand anymores (whaaaa....)
