KenDckey -> RE: Oh My God...Look here! (10/1/2006 7:51:30 PM)

I just got back from camping and the feral cats, skunks, coons, elk, mule deer, squirls, birds and white tail deer didn't have it.   I also searched the camping gear just to make sure it didn't go in there and hide.

I am really glad the skunks didn't have it.   I really didn't want to piss them off trying to get it back.

Ok, while we're all sitting around with nothing better to do, can someone pleeeeeze explain to me the correct way to attach your 'signature' at the end of your post?  And yes, I did leave out a couple of words while experimenting on my last post.  Heard it on the radio yesterday and the words just kinda stuck in my head.

At the top of the page on the right, go into "My profile" and add it there.

Thank you!  Now that's something that's been driving ME crazy for days.  I looked everywhere for a place to put it!  (Opposite problem from yours I suppose)

Damn it!  Then I went and misspelled one of the words!  I think it's time for bed.

Oh, this is just great.  It not only went back and corrected the spelling when I fixed it(making me look like an idiot in the next post) but added it to a previous post.  It really IS time for bed.

So didja find yer Tivo remote yet?

LadyEllen -> RE: Oh My God...Look here! (10/2/2006 2:45:17 AM)

Mail order a new TV, just like the one you have now.

When it arrives, unpack it and take the remote.

Now repack it as well as possible, and phone the company complaining that there was no remote in the box when it arrived. You're disgusted by the level of service and you want them to come collect it and credit your account.

Sorted.

Call up information and ask them where your remote is.  If they don't want to tell you complain to their supervisor that they're not being informative enough. [;)]

Day four:  Still lost.
Anxiety has set in over the household.
Tension is high.
I must interrogate the wee ones again.  They look guilty.

'I must interrogate the wee ones again.  They look guilty.'

I recommend torture.

First sensory depravation in the coalhouse
Then waving candy in front of their faces before you slowly put it in your mouth.
Then return them to the coalhouse with stale bread and water.

You know how you can only ever find one sock of the pair?  Maybe it ended up where all the second socks go.

...or maybe it was the white tailed deer after all.  Sure, they look innocent, but they're pretty jumpy for an animal that supposedly has a clear conscience. [sm=idea.gif]

So I go to tuck my little one in about an hour ago.  Lately we've been reading the bedtime stories on her bed, but tonight we decided to sit in her rocking chair.  And lo and behold...what do I find in the cushion of the one that swore up, down, right and left that she didn't take the remote!!!???
That little one...no soup for her.

They should make one of those paging beeping things for the remote, similar to the one on a cordless phone. [:)]

The military has all sorts of special equipment that uses head movement to make things happen.

I was reading the other day about a new type of prosthetic which connects to nerves and is controllable by the brain.

Patience.  Your neural implant TV remote control is around the corner.

Just me, etc.

I seem to recall that early in the tread the cushions of seats and benches were suggested as possible locations.

Actually, they just reroute the severed nerves to a different muscle and the prosthetic picks up the muscle movement produced in the new spot.  They say it connects to the nerves, but the only new thing about it is where the sensors are located.

It's just like when advertisers use the words "patented" or "technology" or "new" to make something sound better.  Seriously, listen for the words in commercials.  I bet you'll hear them in 99% of them.

Except I'm going to miss this thread.  It was refreshingly amusing...of course at your expense and all, but still!
