TreSwank -> More People That Piss Me Off. (10/8/2006 3:51:33 PM)

The other day, while perusing through a volume of Hunter S. Thompson's collected gonzo jounalism in a downtown New London bookstore, I was accosted by a  slovenly dressed, acne-faced 20-something, holding a "manga" graphic novel that he must have picked up in the "Read This If You're A Douchebag" section of Sarge's.  Before I had a chance to flee, the young man had started to prattle on about "Yoshito Hiramitsu" something or another, and a quaint-looking power sword that he's seen in one of those retarded anime cartoons.

I HATE ANIME.  I HATE SCIENCE FICTION.  I HATE RENAISSANCE FESTIVALS. I HATE WICCA.

That being said, some might reply with a curt "Well...........why don't you just ignore those people You don't have to like the same things that they do." My answer would have to be NO.  It's more fun to talk shit and achieve some kind of catharsis, than to sit and be subject to all sorts of assholery.  If THEY don't like what I say, THEY can ignore me.  It's a two edged sword.

Collectively, Wicca, sci-fi, anime, renaissance-festivals, and role-playing games seem to be a devil's playground for those socially inept high school rejects who have bonded together with shared interests, in an attempt to spread the effects of dorkiness throughout the world - and, God,  I hate all of these things for giving these people another flimsy crutch..........an alternative to the revolver.

It's just plain amazing how a sad, pathetic clown of a human being, can, all of a sudden, become an elitist when he/she joins a larger whole, whether it be under the guise of "Goddess" worship,  or the love of idealized middle-age feudalism.  Just like the "BDSM community" gives weirdos a transgressive sense of "cool", these groups reach down and pluck up the refuse of society - coddling them like the lost children that they really are.

Who else is with me on this?

          Sincerely,
              A BDSM "weirdo".

Post Scriptum:  Did I forget to mention that Star Trek really bites the big one?   I hate Star Trek so much that it makes me want to smash my computer sometimes.  I also hate goths, emo, hip-hop, country music, people who put their phone on "Speaker" mode in public, and fitted ballcaps with flat rims, that some bruthas wear cocked to the side.

Tre, sweetie...

Are you sure you aren't a redhead?  [;)]

LadyEllen -> RE: More People That Piss Me Off. (10/8/2006 4:04:15 PM)

Did it ever occur to you maybe, that the reason that people seek escape from reality, is that reality sucks?

Star Trek etc sucks too, but in a different way.

One is left to ponder whether reality or escapism sucks more, and therefore who the greater suckers really are......

I hate immature little boys

Aeon -> RE: More People That Piss Me Off. (10/8/2006 4:07:36 PM)

Okay....first let me start off by saying that I nearly fell out of the bed laughing when I read this.  Although I have no hatred for Sci-fi, Anime or Renaissance Festivals and think that if enjoyed on what can be considered a normal level of interest there is nothing particularly wrong with them, I MUST agree that those who cannot simply watch one film or attend one event without becoming completely obsessed to the point of accosting all those they come in contact with with the entire storyline of "Yoshito Hiramitsu" or whatever the fuck or history of the clan of Richardson from Ireland or walking around in full on Star Trek gear 24/7 do sincerely have a problem.  Kudos to You for being the one to give them the slap they need to come back to reality. Freedom of speech works both ways right???   again...lmao

An extremely well adjusted and even tempered 85 year-old man who drinks at my favorite bar once told me that one of the main requirements for a long happy life was a level of tolerance for all types.  That was the moment when I first realized that I wouldn't make it to 85.......or 70..............or probably to any point where I might start receiving a "Senior Citizen's Discount" at buffets.

Oh yeah, it feels good to bitch.

It is better to be quiet and thought a fool
than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.

And that's what I've been trying to tell those people all along, but they just don't listen.

Oh, I sincerely hope you make it to 85, and that you will have been living by then in an old folks home for a fair few years, where the entire home is populated by those definitely very odd people who dress up as klingons and speak in that cough/splutter/bark language and never outgrew it.

But thats just the sadistic streak in me perhaps

I'd have to forcibly take their meds away, until they cut the bullshit.
"You want your Metamucil Mr. Thompson?  Well, you'd better straighten up your act, or I'm gonna write you a prescription for PAIN."

I think that face to face contact is the real litmus test for like or dislike, cuddleheart.  I like ya so far.

Good.........because I hate to hate people that I haven't met!!!!

LadyEllen -> RE: More People That Piss Me Off. (10/8/2006 4:36:31 PM)

Dont get me wrong, Tre - they drive me nuts too.

I had a bunch of acquaintances drag me to a really good pub once. Once there, they all changed into Star Trek uniforms. The next thing I knew, there were klingons in the room too - the make up and all, barking and spluttering absolute guff, which was only matched by the absolute guff (but this time in English) from the Trekkies. The medical officer (who looked nothing like McCoy BTW), gave a report on the health of the crew. There was some dweeb there who apparently was the captain of the USS Daftwad (or something), and they all had ranks and did salutes and all sorts. The whole thing was hilarious. What was worse, was that they wanted me to join!

Sorry no. The idea of associating myself with strange people who got dressed up in strange costumes, called each other sir / maam and acted out strange scenarios for mutual pleasure all night, just seemed silly to me. So nowadays I just attend bdsm and fetish venues.

Yes. A narrow escape alright. Leather, rubber, whips and chains I can put up with. Guys on leashes, strutting dominas and people in airtight rubber masks I can stand. But Trekkies? Oh no! Absolutely depraved, sickening and a blight on the morality of our society.

Would now be a good time to tell you I spent five years playing Dungeons and Dragons?
