so we all have a "geeky" thing we do as a hobby, or a collection of something (other than bills).

ME ? I collect vintage 1980's TRANSFORMER toys, and GO-BOTS (Machine-Robos for you Brits). Yep ! Autobots and Decepticons....

so there ! I outed myself.... what is your geek ?

I collect model ships. Tall ships, schooners, sail boats.. whatever I can find.

I have one that's 2 1/2 feet long that my uncle found in a restaurant in Nova Scotia. The sails are glorious.

I started collecting souvenir spoons when I was in high school. I now collect depression-era glass (bought and sold on Ebay) and souvenir magnets.

i collect David Winter cottages... don't have a decent collection yet but hopefully when i get out of school i will have the money to start acquiring more.

I collect coins. I guess one could say I collect M&M stuff. Although I hate stuff just sitting around so it must be functional. Dislike the actual candy but I do think those animated M's are cute.

My soon to be mother in law purchased some depression era glass for me this last christmas. Sweet, how do you know on ebay what is real vs the imitations?
I've often thought of doing a bit of collecting but I heard there are a lot of scam artists in the depression glass area of ebay.
I believe I've inherited quite a few pieces from my mother. Although just not sure how to be sure it is from that era.

I actually got caught in the beginning with fakes then bought a book on what to look for. Basically, make sure there is a marking on the bottom, i.e. "Fire King". If nothing present, it is a newer piece of glass. Also look what others are bidding on. The most valuable piece I have is a batter bowl at approx. $75 but the old salt & pepper shakers can go for $175 each! I was outbid on a drippings bowl once for $138 then my grandmother found me one for Christmas!

Here I go running on again.

I collect records and tapes, because I maintain that cds will never be as cool as a piece of vinyl or a killer mixed tape.

I collect banks, mainly piggy banks. Might have something to do with that stingy Scottish heritage we southerns are so proud of. I also have a love of dishes.. green depression glass, American pattern Faustoria crystal, just pretty serving pieces. hmmm. money and food. figures.

I collect boxes. I have so many that I have boxes inside of boxes that are inside of boxes filled with more boxes. I like having boxes. Are you moving? I have a few boxes you can borrow.

I used to collect air-sickness bags.. Cant say I collect much more than dust nowadays.

I collect bears--any quality art showing bears: soapstone, crystal, Native American art, carvings, jade, ivory, etc. I always pick up a few new ones when i travel.

I collect Knives...mmmmm...i do not have the collection i once did though. I also am just a lil' girl at heart and collect Teddy Bears and Dolls and Faerie Figurines (tiny ones). I try to keep that down to just a few...i also detest clutter...am a cleaning fanatic and an organizational freak. This tends to get in the way with collecting. I have sold off alot of my pieces over the last 2 years and keep limited things.

I collect Star Wars anything. Action figures, micro-machines, kid's meal toys, posters, 12" figures, trading cards, pretty much anything. I have about 250 pieces right now and still going strong (not as big as my Dom's collection though, his is about 1500 pieces and growing faster then mine). My most valuable piece is my trading card signed by Mark Hamill, I was thrilled when I got it.

I collect get this TOYS that can be used during sessions LOL>............. but i also collect things that look good to me........... and I do a lot of artwork of my own.
