I have not had any bad experiences with the scene so I am not sure
what you are talking about.

I don't recall have any bad experiences.

I think certain people are more likely to be traumatized
and/or influenced by a few experiences.  That is not the case
with me.

>It's important to know that what you are seeing _is_ an illusion.

Did you ever consider the possibility that what you are seeing
_is_ an illusion?

> Most ProDommes enter the business because it seems like fun.

How do you know this?  Have you conducted a survey?   Was the
sample population truly random?  Or are you speaking simply from
your own personal experience?

I have no blocks to find this.

> there are people out there that would love your service. A
> good way to start this practice might be a volunteer organization,

I have engaged in this pratice all my life.  I have always helped the
poor, the needy, the sick, the disabled, the mentally ill, the emotionally
disturbed, those addicted to drugs and alcohol, and the homeless.
I don't need volunteer organizations.  I do  more good helping
people directly.

> or volunteering to help your local BDSM community.

I will be starting my own BDSM S. Florida community for
those under the age of 35.

I have no gift.  And I am not looking for reward.

Cheers,
Michael

Clearly, you like putting words in my mouth.  This is called the strawman tactic. It

is the most dishonest debate tactic.  If you can't dispute what someone actually
said, exaggerate their words and make it sound like they said something other
than what they really said.  If you can't win with the truth, distort, twist, and stretch
what the other person actually said till you make their position sound ridiculous.

I never said everyone else is stupid, unreasonable or any of your other
false and specious claims.

Lady Alaria -> RE: Pro-Dommes, Prostitution, and sexual burnout. (10/18/2006 8:35:11 AM)

Y'know, the ironic thing here is that, if it weren't for certain things, you'd almost be able to make a clear point or 2. Ones that even if disagreed with, might foster some useful discussion.

Sadly, you seems to like to make broad satements defining groups of people in ways that if, if untrue, will be _extremely_ offensive, and stating them as _fact_ from limited outside experience. You also seem to be quite skilled at wording your positions, and your arguements, in a manner that manages to get under the skin and piss off the reader even in those circumstances where otherwise they would agree with you. I'm not sure if this is an incredible talent, or a deep flaw, but it does not seem to be appreciated here.

It's true that truth is not decided by popular opinion. But look around you, and try to see if there is even one person who agrees with you. Even one person who's experiences are even similar to yours. If you stand in a large group of people, all looking at the same sign and they all say it says south and you're pretty sure it says north, it's possible that it's you who needs to get your eyes checked.

Of course maybe you just like stirring things up. Maybe you're the type of person who likes to prove how smart they are by winning a debate against a large group of people, and -scoring- points off of them. But in the end, ones skill in debate tends to be judged by ones ability to bring others around to your way of thinking. Or at least making them question they're hard held beliefs. And I don't think you've done that at all. You're just good at pissing people off.

So, WTH, are you going to kick yourself out of the group in a year?  Or are you hoping to be "GrandFathered" in?  Pun intended.

You could always write your messages in the large font and when done, highlight the whole thing and select a smaller font before posting... But that does sound like a lot of effort... [8|]

quote:

ORIGINAL: WhipTheHip
ORIGINAL: WhipTheHip   I have not insulted Pro Dommes

ORIGINAL: WhipTheHip
Pro Dommes are not prostitutes, but both Pro Dommes and prostitutes risk sexual burnout and engage in activities that diminish their chance of ever
having a loving relationship.

Due to mistreatment by some male (or many males) in their past, Pro-Dommes
and prostitutes do not seek loving relationships.

.......

Why don't most prostitutes and Pro-Dommes want to be in a loving relationship?
I think it is because they have been misused my males, and are not capable
of forming an intimate, trusting relationship with any male.  Or they fear, putting
themselves in a position where another male will just use their body, and take
abuse their heart.   They fear being misused, abused, and taken advantage of
by another male.   Whenever males have been in control in their lives, they have
always gotten the short end of stick.

While I can see that this is not an insult as such as it's only an opinion, it is insulting as well as stupid to maintain this line of thought despite contradictory statements from the group the opinion is about...
I'd say this is about the point in time where a reasonable person would revise his/her views..

Pro Dommes are just that, professional Dommes who make their living by having customers who are into WIIWD.
Anyone ever hear of "Pro Doms?"

sweetnurseBBW -> RE: Pro-Dommes, Prostitution, and sexual burnout. (10/18/2006 11:49:14 AM)

We have a pro Dom that lives near us. He is actually a trensexual. He is in the process of going from man to woman. He does it pro and has a houseful of slaves. He is actually very well thought of in the community.

juliaoceania -> RE: Pro-Dommes, Prostitution, and sexual burnout. (10/18/2006 12:08:57 PM)

Michael,

After reading almost every post on this thread, including the opening post it occured to me that you may not understand how offensive your generalizations about women, prostitutes, and pro-femdoms are. You are not a female hooker or a femdom are you? One person hit below the belt and insinuated your childhood must have wounded you because of the many things you state about yourself... you asserted that this was not true, and yet you sit back and make assumptions and generalizations about people that you do not know....

I would ask, how many prostitutes and pro femdoms do you know intimately enough to come up with this wild thesis about their inability to form intimate relationships? I will not ask you to produce studies, but I will ask you for your own anecdotal "evidence". I mean women that have taken you into their confidence, told you their lifestory, related to you that they have an inability to be in an intimate relationship?

If you are basing it upon a few people that you know that have a difficult with inimate relationships I would ask you about your own ability to form a pairbond. You are here looking for an intimate longterm relationship which you lack... is this because of some hole in your heart due to abuse? Some lack within you? How do you explain this lack of a LTR that you say "others" are not able to traverse and they should be pitied?

I guess by your own standard I should pity you perhaps, because you lack the very thing you are saying they lack... yet we should pity them and not you?  I wonder if your empathy can stretch to your own circumstances. I just thought I would note that it it a little like the pot calling the kettle black, and a bit ironic that you would pity people that have the same deficiencies as yourself... although you assume they as a group lack this, which is a pretty bold assumption considering your lack of evidence...

Okay... still not amused, but wondering why everyone is trying to educate and pound in some sense to someone who thinks he knows more then the Gods/Insert Diety of Choice or Not here/

Ignorance is bliss, apparently this fellow is exstatically happy.

I was with somebody once who had a similar sentiment.  If you are not marching in step with the rest of the band, it is unlikely that the rest of the band is marching out of step.

Just me, I could be wrong, but there you go.
