What are you going to do if the Republicans wins more seats?

sissifytoserve -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 4:21:02 PM)

They won't.

Unless electronic voting machines are hacked like they were in 2004.

I'm voting constitutionalist....only democrat if there is no other option.

Yes, my reading on the upcoming election indicates the same.

Bush will not be the President in 2008.

(You heard it here first)

Actually, I imagine what will happen in the next year is an attempt by the Republican controlled congress, assuming they have one next month, to get rid of the term limits amendment to the US Constitution.

If they had tried it a year ago they would have been able to push it through.

Call me Mr. DoomNGloom, but I also would not be overly shocked if Monkeyboy didnt try to come up with some cock-eyed scheme to modify the Constitutation to allow a "wartime president" to serve until the war ends.

We will just have to see if Dumbfuckistan lets him get away with it.

The last couple of elections have taught me not to invest myself emotionally in what happens at the polls, and there is so much digital Jim Crow going on I have very little faith in the system anymore

Oh, don't lose faith yet, julia. Say, what do you think of Nancy Pelosi? I just saw her on 60 Minutes, and she made a decent impression. Of course, that does not mean I'll end up agreeing with her much if she becomes Majority leader....[8|]

sissifytoserve -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 5:11:12 PM)

Pelosi is a Joe Liberman (Spineless) "I support president Bush" Democrat as far as im concerned.

popeye1250 -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 5:11:17 PM)

There's a guy in Arizona who's running for congress to fill Jim Kolbe's seat, Randy Graf who's running as a Republican and the Republican Party won't support him or give him $500,000 because he supports closing the Mexican Border and enforcing our immigration laws!
Now how f...d Up is that?
In this state (S.C.) we're going to be getting rid of a Republican Senator in '08 (Lindsey Graham) because he voted for that Mc Cain/Kennedy "Amnesty" bill. (S-2311)
Seems Sen. Graham just doesn't want to listen to the People who elected him!
The Republicans aren't very bright, are they?

"You ignore The American People at your own peril."

Actually you are wrong.   Bush is a lame duck president because term limits has caught up with him.   But he will be in office until (and I could be wrong about the exact date) Jan 20, 2009.

I agree that many of the Republicans are being thrown out of office.   But then I am a major propoent of term limits and don't think any congressman (senate or house) should hold office more than 2 terms.

I have a hunch Graham isn't going anywhere, popeye.

popeye1250 -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 5:38:13 PM)

Level, I really think you're wrong. Everyone knows he's taking money from the Big Home Builders and Construction cos in this state that use illegal aliens.
They've already come out with "Deport Lindsey Graham" for bumperstickers and *the worst thing of all that you can say about a politician down South; "Lindsey Graham, he's not one of us!"
IMHO if this guy has any smarts at all he shouldn't even run in this state again.
With that vote of his for S-2311 he stuck a knife in the back of too many people.
You a betting man Level?

Level -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 5:45:06 PM)

Hmmmm, a bet...... [:D]. I'm too damn poor to bet much money lol, so how about this? After the election, the loser has to post the fact that they were wrong? Simple and inexpensive lol.

Chaingang -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 8:29:36 PM)

I'm with Julia and Sissy. Pelosi was on 60 Minutes tonight backing away from impeachment. Impeachment is not enough - I say we need a full war crimes tribunal with all of those SOBs under indictment.

I want more than politics as usual - I want actual justice. Call me a dreamer...

Not only is she against impeachment.... but she's said openly on numerous occasions, that she'd rather not subject the country to endless hearings and investigations with regard to Abu Gharab, warentless wire taps, Ken Lay- Enron / Dick Cheney/excutive priveledge secret energy meetings, or no bid contracts.

She also believes in the whole endless ''war on terror'' nonsense. I gotta believe that after all that's happened with the Democrats, they'll be smart enough to make sure she's not the speaker.

Archer -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 9:29:28 PM)

The Congress going DEM again is scary as hell to me, but the Republicans deserve to get tossed on their butts a little bit here.
Not for the reasons so many here want them tossed for but rather for turning into big spenders and big government politicians after they took over.

The things that got them the house in the 90's are the same reasons they should lose the House this time around.
Maybe if they lose this time they will remember what Fiscal Conservative means and they can come back in 08'.

sissifytoserve -> RE: Defeat looms for Bush and the Neo-cons (10/22/2006 9:31:41 PM)

The only thing that got them in the house is using FEAR.

Period.

"terrorists...terrorists...terrorists...terrorists"

Repeated OVER and OVER and OVER.

Fear fear fear fear...ad nauseaum

[:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(]

Funny thing is...their whole agenda has FAILED....miserably.

Iraq is lost...Afganistan is getting there...Bin Laden is still at large.

Terrorists wasn't even on the public's top 100 concerns at the time?????

At least make the comments fit the facts.
