Name a time and place where large numbers of Republicans en masse saw and injustice overseas and went there to fight and die for that cause?

I am not talking about joining the US military, I am talking about believing so strongly in something that you left your own country to take up the cause of justice on your own?

Since it seems clear you have no idea what I am talking about, google the Abraham Lincoln Brigade...they fought the Nazis at the same time people like Bush's family were handling their investments.

Crappy, didn't the Abraham Lincoln brigade fight in the Spanish Civil War and not against the Nazis? I think that was around '34-37'?
And plenty of people fought against the Japs with China before the U.S. was involved.
Chenault's "Flying Tigers" for one, although I don't remember hearing anything about their political affiliations.
There was a lot of unemployment in those days so mercenary pay was probably very tempting to many!
For the last 40 years or so it would seem that liberals don't want anything to do with the military.
Clinton dropped his laundry when he found out that his reserve unit might be going to Vietnam if I remember correctly.

Popeye,

The Germans tested both their men and their equipment in the Spanish civil war, Franco would have lost if it hadn't been for German intervention.  I would count Teddy and the rough riders except the Spanish American war was manufactured just like this one and so this is the only time Americans have ever volunteered in large numbers to fight for a foreign country.

You are right about the volunteers for the Flying Tigers and the Americans who fought with the Canadians and Brits but the politics of those were quite murky and in the case of Flying Tigers they were well paid, unlike the Abraham Lincoln fighters who were not and they were treated like shit upon their return to America.

Look at how many Republican presidents served compared to Democrats, sorry but liberals are at the very least well represented.  Jimmy Carter who will go down in history as one of our better presidents, was a member of the silent service and they are AlWAYS at war!

I don't think Clinton was in the Reserves and sorry but you can't blast Clinton without screaming about Cheney and Bush.

Crappy, wearn't the Flying Tigers disolved in 1942 and incorporated by the Army Air Corps?
I can't argue with you about Republican Presidents and a lack of Military service excepting Bush 41 and Eisenhower, and Nixon.
Wealthy people aren't known for that anyway and if they do go in they want to be Officers and not Enlisted.

Liberals (and unions) have nothing to do with flouridated water. It's all a ploy to make money by disposing of industrial waste.
