That U of Minn guy was a very smart draft choice.

I think that is a cogent explication of the entire melby position on viking football, Lam.

A prophet is without honor and all that typea shit.

But, Goddammit, to be fair, he(Molinari) had a hole that looked like the 9th at saint andrews.

so he wasn't alone.

I found it interesting that Rex Grossman was replaced in the 4th quarter of a game that had no playoff implications.

mymasterssub69 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/25/2006 6:59:39 AM)

according to Da Bears camp it was part of the plan ...i don't think so. finally Lovie is having some doubts about his #1 guy

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/25/2006 7:42:11 AM)

It sends a bad message to Rex and the team.  If he's the guy, he's the guy.  He isn't the most predictable player, that's for sure.  But going into the playoffs isn't the time to confirm any doubts he may have regarding his abilities to lead the team.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/25/2006 9:35:26 AM)

Actually, I didn't think it was a bad idea to give Griese some reps in a game that meant absolutely nothing.  He might be needed.  If that's enough to rattle the team, they're not ready to win the Super Bowl.

I guess San Diego has the best talent in the NFL right now, but I can't ever bet on Marty Schottenheimer.  So my pick to win it all has to be Baltimore.

mymasterssub69 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/25/2006 9:46:41 AM)

even sports writers could see that Rex was having problems and continually questioned Lovie on that and everytime Lovie said Rex was the man. it merely took him awhile to see that Rex does need a rest before the playoffs. it was a smart move on Lovie ...yes Rex is still the leader but there are plays when he does into trouble and needs to be pulled out.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/25/2006 5:10:09 PM)

Sorry sweets.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/25/2006 9:37:47 PM)

Well, that was an ugly win, but the team ranked about 30th in the league in talent is 9-6 and poised to make the playoffs after knocking off the Dolphins in Miami.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/25/2006 10:24:09 PM)

It was a pretty dull game until the 4th quarter. That Lemon kid from Miami impressed me. Not bad for his first real start.
Congrats to your Jets, LAM.

This may be the end of Joey Harrington's career.  Things weren't looking too good for him for next year even before this.

I can't think of a bettre time to give game time to the back-ups. You never know when a player is going to get hurt. Putting the first string on the bench for the fourth quater
of a game that, essentially, doesn't count makes sense to me. Now the way they went about it may be in question whether told Grossman or not is really immaterial.

The HC doesn't answer to the fans.

The head coach has the right to bench anybody he wants at any time for any reason. If you don't like it tough bananas. If you don't understand it TB.

Gooooooooooo BEARS!![:D]

CreoleCook -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/26/2006 4:05:58 AM)

Being the tried and true New Orleans Saints fan that I am, I'm glad the Eagles won last night.  Them lew-cee-anna mudbugs are in a completely new place.  First divisional win since 2k, but more importantly, first time in team history getting a 1st round bye.
