Now, I'm not sure about the fan voting, I thought it all was done.

Here's a link on one of your guys, Ty Warren. He was a rock while at Texas A&M, so it's no surprise he's coming on strong in the pros.

http://patriots.bostonherald.com/patriots/view.bg?articleid=172992

You're right, it is over. I just checked. Right before I posted that I had been reading an article regarding the pro bowl  and it had a link for fans to cast their votes.

Yeah, we love Ty Warren around here. And in a few years when he comes up for FA, he will be getting mad offers and all of a sudden folks will take notice. That seems to be how it goes.
I also agree that TB did not have a Pro Bowl year. While there is a whole lot of truth to Branch and Givens absence, I think you also need to look at his O line. They haven't been getting the job done, and TB has been very fortunate for years to have a great O line, which in turn has given him the opportunities to be Pro Bowl caliper. < too lazy to spell check that one>

Completely out of left field:

What is up with the NFL these days? Ya got the Bad Boy Bengals and all their arrests, the Viking crowd from the boating incident, this one arrested, that one arrested and now the Asst Coach oFrom Chicago arrested for DUI
AND
being naked in the car !

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/20/2006 5:22:29 PM)

He was naked in the car?  I didn't know that.  Oh my.  Football is a bunch of bad boys.  It has gone too far though.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/20/2006 6:19:38 PM)

Yup, he was naked as a jaybird. ! I've been drunk in my day, ashamed to say back in my youth I drove drunk, but dammit, I always managed to keep my clothes on til we were pulled over in a secluded spot [8D].

(thank for the linky)

A bump from page 3

Games I'm highlighting over Christmas:

Ravens vs Steelers (if the Steelers protect the ball they can win this, really)
Pats vs Jags (be scared, the Jags are good at home)
Saints vs Giants (does anyone still like Eli?)
Bengals vs Broncos (please let the Bengals lose)
Eagles vs Cowboys (reunion of Garcia & TO, feel the mutual hate!)

mymasterssub69 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/23/2006 10:06:04 AM)

Da Bears (12 - 2) vs Detroit (2 - 12)

no contest there - DA BEARS!!!

woohoo - we're sending 7 players to the Pro Bowl

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/24/2006 8:31:26 AM)

Well Boys and Girls, it's Christmas Eve day and NFL Sunday all in one. [:D] I probably won't be around for a few days so I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all my football comrades. The regular season is almost over and by days end, Santa will have given some of us our answer to the play off picture.

I'm hoping  a ladies Bruschi jersey is waiting for me under the tree tomorrow morning. < not the pink one, I hate them> I've certainly dropped enough hints that some one should have picked up on it.

                                     Merry ! Merry!
                                        mbmbn

Good luck today and have a safe and healthy day tomorrow.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/24/2006 8:39:52 AM)

mbmbn - right back at ya!  And I agree, those pink jerseys are for sissies.  May Santa bring victories for our favorite teams.
Hugs!
Katy

Merry Christmas and good luck to your teams, friends.

Right back at ya Level!

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/24/2006 9:06:51 AM)

<<Hugs>> back to you both.

Before I run off to Moms for the day, I had to share this one. Our local station has a show called Patriots Gameday. The last 7 minutes of the show was about Springs and Wall, former Cowboys players: one donating, one recieving a kidney. They interviewed both of them and some of their old teamamtes like Tony Dorsett. They were all together having a celebration/thanksgiving together. It was very moving and brought a tear to my eye.   It was a really nice way to end the show, particularly today, when many of us are beginning our celebrations. Humbles you to remember the important things in life.

It is good to think about all in the world that can be good and uplifiting.  Too often we focus on the negative.  I know that I certainly do, even when I have good cause to, it's a waste of energy and head space.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/24/2006 5:17:37 PM)

Well the Pats' win at Jacksonville was big.  I think they're legitimate contenders for the Super Bowl now, even though they're not getting a bye.

Indianapolis is cooked.

Pathetic that the Giants might still make the playoffs.

And even though I live among diehard Eagles fans, I really hope the Cowboys win tomorrow, because the thought of the Eagles winning their division after the way they've played this year is just revolting.

Some teams have packed it in--like those Browns I was praising just a couple of weeks ago.  Losing 22-7 at home to Tampa Bay is a disgrace.

But one team that hasn't packed it in is Tennessee!  I bet they'd beat Atlanta right now.

I just hope the Mangenius has them ready to play tomorrow night, because the Jets always suck on Monday night and the way is paved for them to march right into the playoffs as long as they win.  Whoda thunk it?

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/24/2006 5:49:16 PM)

How about dem who dey's messing up the point after?

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/24/2006 6:21:48 PM)

It is amazing that the Giants are still in the picture. Like I said last week, it's been a freaky deaky season.

I hear what you are saying about the Philly fans LAM, but I am an old Philly girl, spent alot of Sundays at Vets stadium as a youngin and have a soft spot in my heart for the Eagles to this day. So I will be pulling for them tomorrow. Of course I was one of the few genteel ones. [;)]

The Patriots win was a big one. No turnovers, clean game, WRs stepped up, Def was awsome. Our 3rd punter of the season did a really nice job. The hit on Brady had me close to flatlining, tho.  This is the home strech, I was pretty happy to see things coming in line. Of course the Chargers are the team to beat, IMO. Not so sure there is any stopping them.

I didn't get to watch any of the late games today. Too busy prepping the food for tomorrow. So I will watch the highlights tonight.
Katy, you have been a very good Steelers girl this year, so I bet Santa will give you something extra special tomorrow. Hopefully they will win big next week and end the season on a high note. < I know, not the high note you wanted [&:] >

The hit on Brady was absolutely wicked; he really showed how big his pair is by getting right back in the game.

The Denver/Bengals game was a good one, too; the ugly uni squad had every chance to win, but didn't.

BAL is on a roll. Billick has really straightened out the offense and the new wrinkle of the team is a first class receiving corp with little name recognition. Heap (TE), Clayton, Mason, and Williams (WRs) have all had very, very solid years. The Ravens receivers run good routes and catch the football and Steve McNair is spreading the ball around rather evenly. Under Billick, even the FB is involved in the offense making key runs and pass receptions, a vital component to a ball control oriented offense.

IMO, BAL is capable of beating SD b/c it can shut down LT and put pressure on Rivers. Things look good in Ravens land and its more than easy to root for Steve McNair ---- a class act incorporated.

I'm curious to see if BAL manhandles BUF next week, because no matter how good a team looks in the age of NFL parity --- anything can happen. Luckily the Bills lost, which I think eliminates them from playoff contention.

How about the Bengals losing to DEN b/c of botched extra point snap? Now that is a KILLER way to lose indeed.

The Colts may be in serious trouble now that home field advantage in the dome has been possibly surrendered to another team.

DAMN!  My BUCS won a game & I missed it because of the traveling we did today, grrrrrr....
I'll have to remember to call the in-laws in Ohio and mention that in passing, hehehe...  [;)]

mnottertail -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/24/2006 8:09:17 PM)

Did you happen to catch the 68 yarder that was run by a U of Minn guy?  LOL.  Why can't we own our own shit in Minnesota?

That's why I don't follow this unless it is on and I have to be there.
