Vegas has SF as a four point favorite.

In favor of SF:

(1) Versatile Read Option offense presenting a formidable, hard to defend two-way offensive threat.

Once SF got its offense in gear after the blackout, they moved the ball down the field in a hurry.

(2) Rugged physical defense capable of stuffing the run.

Ravens OL neutralized SF for the most part.

-----

In favor of BAL:

(1) An intangible will to win coming from senior members of the team hungry for a title: Anquan Boldin, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrel Suggs, and Bernard Pollard.

This remained a vital factor. Ed Reed and Boldin each played an exceptional game.

(2) Joe Flacco has more experience than Kaepernick and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to shut up the rotisserie critics who fawn over BRADY, BREES, ROGERS, and MANNING.

This difference in experience might have been even more important if not for the power failure. Flacco has started 90+ games to Kaepernick's 10.

(3) A better FG kicker than SF's troubled Akers.

SF got bailed out on this when BAL ran into Akers after he missed.

In sum, the more experienced, seasoned team won the Super Bowl, but SF looks to have a very bright future. BAL will have major salary cap issues as its free agent class seeks top dollar on the open market.

So maybe Tony Romo can go to Disneyville?

Gawwd, I hope so!

And I think it's true, SF has a good chance to have a long run; they're young and loaded.

Tony Romo can go to Disney World anytime he wants, hell Jerry Jones has paid him so much damm money(per playoff win the number is astounding)he can go to DisneyEuro if he pleases.
What Romo can't do,and won't ever get to do is one of those silly Disney commercials......those are reserved for MVP's.
Yanno guys who win the big game, something Romo has proven he can not do.

bonus points to the first poster who can tell us who was the first MVP to go to Disney World ?

Ravens, baby.
And crabcakes <grin>>

Honestly, Flacco has made me a fan, instead of the now and then catch a game type.

I was impressed by GoDaddy. I had thought that they could never do worse than their previous ads. I was amazed by how much they proved me wrong.

OK folks. Round 1 of the draft is over.

Who did your team pick and what do you think?

Colts and Jets have 3-4 defenses, but picked 4-3 lineman - fail

Dallas traded down for a stupid 3rd round pick; got a center at the end of the 1st - fail.

Vikings, Rams, and Steelers did well.

Tebow has a new job.

He just got picked up by the Patriots

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Tebow signed a two-year contract that includes no guaranteed money.

"Tim is a talented player, is smart and works hard. We'll see how it goes," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Tuesday.

Tebow is wearing Jersey No. 5 at the team's mandatory minicamp, according to the roster distributed to the media by the Patriots. He has worn No. 15 in his first three NFL seasons but that number belongs to backup quarterback Ryan Mallett.

Tebow was signed to be a quarterback on the Patriots' roster, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder.

When asked what position Tebow will play, Belichick said, "we will see."

This surprised a lot of people. Most thought Tebow's career was over. I would have thought the Patriots and Belichick would have been the last to pick him up.

It will be interesting to see how he is used.

The intern that was washing Bill's car must have gone back to school so they needed someone new.

We'll find out if he can play another position besides QB, otherwise NE will cut him before setting its final roster.

The Ravens have lost 9 starters from the their Super Bowl team. That's a record, and it contrasts with the 2000 Super Bowl Team that returned largely intact except for cutting Trent Dilfer in favor of Elvis Grbac. This was a mistake by the front office. When Billick insisted on trading up to get Kyle Boller after that, his fates was sealed.

They'll probably put him at H-back. Two things give Belichick a hard-on; frumpy clothes, and players with flexible skills.

I like this move. If anyone can find a way to use Tebow's skills it's Belichick. Never cared much for Bill but he is arguably one of the best football minds currently in the game.

Well, you've sorted that admirably.

Instead of just one car washer there will now be a whole team of Tebow-follower kneelers and crossers for the task.

Koolaid for everyone afterwards, of course.

I'm frankly surprised. Tebow must be absolute poison in the locker room or someone would have signed him as their backup QB just to get the publicity. Now the Pats sign him to no guaranteed money and hint they intend to move him to a new position. While I always thought he'd be better at a position that doesn't require throwing a spiral I assumed the fact neither the Broncos or Jets shifted him meant he refused to change positions.

Tebow himself isn't poison per se, it is the freak show that comes with him, the whole circus. If Bellichick has success with Tebow, it is because he and NE don't brook any crap, the way the Jets did. The circus around him was incredible, I was at the Jets training camp upstate last summer, and it was a complete circus, ESPN and other outlets had people there 24/7, it was unreal, and every half hour there was a report on Tebow, which is just unreal. If he brings distraction, if he brings the Chautaqua tent circus with him, NE will cut him quicker then you can say jack sprat.

I actually feel sorry for him, I really do, he didn't really hype himself and seems like a decent joker, I think he became the center of a maelstrom he didn't create and couldn't control it, and it hurt him. And while I think that he isn't a pro quarterback, the Jets royally screwed him, they brought him in and never gave him a chance (and considering how bad Sanchez really is, they didn't risk much).

Bellichick is an evil genius, but like many of his type, they kind of go off the deep end...when he got caught illegally filming the Jets, I had to laugh, given how bad the Jets are/were and how good NE is ....
