HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Texans agreed to terms with free agent running back Ahman Green on Sunday.
The 30-year-old former Green Bay Packer will likely become the starter for a team that struggled at the position last season after Domanick Williams - formerly Davis - missed the year with knee problems.

QB Plummer spurns Buccaneers, announces retirement

March 4, 2007
CENTENNIAL, COLORADO (TICKER) -- A lot of retirees head to Florida. Jake Plummer apparently would rather stay in the Rocky Mountains.
Plummer ended all speculation regarding his future Sunday, announcing his retirement on his foundation's official web site.

Brady Quinn had his Pro Day work out.
If nothing else, he has the finest upper body of any qb.   [;)]

The Chicago Bears reached a preliminary agreement to trade running back Thomas Jones to the New York Jets on Monday for a second-round draft pick.
A person familiar with the trade told The Associated Press the Jets will give up a second-round draft pick, 37th overall, for Jones, who rushed for 1,210 yards and six touchdowns in helping the Bears make the Super Bowl. The person did not wish to be identified because the trade has not been officially announced.

The 28-year-old Jones must pass a physical and agree to a contract extension before the deal is complete. The Jets also would receive Chicago's second-round choice, No. 63 overall, in the trade. New York would surrender the second-rounder it received from Washington in a previous deal.

Joey is a Fish:

Joey Porter has agreed to a five-year, $32 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, making the former second-team All-Pro linebacker the first marquee player to join the club during this free agent period.

Thanks Level, I am missing out on a lot of breaking news since I'm working two jobs!  It will be weird to see Joey in colors other than black & gold.

I won't, don't worry.  Actually I enjoy my second job.  The people I work with are cool and the time flies, it's a few hours every evening after my primary job.  No weekends.

If Quinn goes to Cleveland, that means 3 of the best young QBs in the league will all be in the same division joining Roethelsberger in PITT and Palmer in CIN.

To combat this, the Ravens will have to keep up a stellar defense and ball control offense, because they have no such young QB on the roster.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (3/7/2007 9:41:54 AM)

It will be interesting to see what pick of the draft brings Quinn into the NFL, of the threee mock drafts at nfl.com, they have him going to three different teams:  Minnesota, Detroit, Carolina

mbmbn, your Pats got a good one here, I think:

"I don't expect people to understand the contract,'' Adalius Thomas said over the phone from Logan Airport in Boston on Saturday night in the hoarse, scratchy voice that is his trademark. "It doesn't matter what people think of the contract. I know what the contract is. It's a real contract, not a paper contract, and I'm going to earn all of it.''

The rumors are flying that Tom Brady has gotten his current girlfriend (another model) preggers.  You can google "Tom Brady" and watch the rumors spin.  What a stud.  hehe

Does anyone here have an opinion of Willis McGahee?

How would you descibe him as a running back? Do you think he is ALL PRO material?

Hi cb. "All Pro", no, a very good back when healthy, yes. He's not a pounder like Jamal Lewis, he's more of a speed/slasher type. Is he worth 3 draft picks? Time will tell.
