About the only plus side I have for that "drive" was that it happened to the Browns. Eric

Katy.... I'm just gonna give you a compliment and say that I am impressed by a woman who likes football as much as you seem to. Tell your guy I said I think he should kickdown whatever it takes to take you to a few Steeler games; even if it means paying inflated prices to the scalpers. - R

It's a lot of fun, but if you've watched football games on TV for years, you may have certain expectations. Like being able to see every detail on the field--that's just not going to happen if you're there in the flesh. Well, yeah, but I don't think watching a football game on the Jumbotron is like watching it on TV. Well, especially not since I always rewind shit with Tivo. Anyway, we agree, there's nothing like seeing it in person.

Don't worry, I think he reads everything that I write here. He's into college football, big time, Penn State in particular. It amazes me how much he knows about the coaches and players. We are long distance, so when we have a weekend together (in the fall & winter) it's filled with football.

My Dom has pointed out to me that I have been remiss. This summer he took me to Steeler's training camp, it must've been 98 degrees, yet everyone had on their black/gold. I live in close promity and had never been there. Some of the highlights: Clark Haggans was applauded upon entering and leaving the port-a-john, and Dan Rooney was given a standing ovation from fans as he left the field in a motorized vehicle. (I'm not making this stuff up).

Ahhhhh American football. We have similar emotions (hatred, sheer joy, uber frustartion) with our sports teams in England. I am from Liverpool and my love for our football team (soccer to you guys) has no equal. Umm, sorry to my girlfriend for that but she understands!!!! Just wanted to say that my father, on a trip to the US, was treated by friends to a day at a Miami Dolphins game and he says the experience was utterly fantastic. He couldnt give a stuff who won etc. but said the game experience and the pre and post game atmosphere was second to none. He was really impressed by the way you chaps make a day out of what is in effect an 80 minute game! And I must say I am envious of that experience. With our football one can travel to a game and then pay through the nose to watch an overpaid group of europeans who cant speak the language thrash ones own side in front of their adoring fans who have never been to the city in which their team plays expcept to go the match! Bitter, moi?
