This scandal (Foley hitting on the children working as pages in Congress) was covered up for years by the Republican congressional leaders, who knew of his amorous intent at underage boys.
He was appointed the senior member of the Congressional Council On Exploited Children.
His list of excuses include, I believe, that he is "gay," and "alcoholic," "was molested by his priest as a child," etc.
My point was that you could stay in his office and he would not look at you twice since you are not male, underage, or in his charge as an unpaid congressional page helping him deal with the issue of child abuse and exploitation of minor children in the United States.
Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.
