I do not mean for this question to sound beligerent, or as a put down, or anythig like that. I am just truly curious as to if this has ever happened to you and how most Dom/Dome's would handle it. While you were in the process of spanking or flogging a sub or slave and she started giggling or laughing. I don't mean when it was a punishment but more of just for fun or what ever it is called. Would you get upset that she was laughing and therefore hit harder to stop the giggles, or think she had just zoned off. Has anyone ever experienced this before.? Thank you for your assistance. Happens all the time. Scene space is not rational space and emotional outbursts of all types are to be expected. Not an uncommon experience at all. I'd had it happen when I was spanking/flogging a number of subs. To me, there is no jeoppardy attached in that situation. I just let them enjoy.

Laughter can happen at anytime doing a lot of the stuff that is talked about here. Many things are not always done in an intense way with an ultra serious mood and add to it a person you have been with for years and/or will make a joke during something like a spanking, laughter is sometimes inevitable. My former Master use to many times have me laughing at various stages sometimes it did mean a few extra swats though.

Laughter is my common reaction to being spanked and whipped. It releases pent up emotions.

Patina LOL! i laugh and giggle at times, things happen that just "hit" (pun intended?) my funny bone...one time we had to wait until i could calm down a bit. i was all ready and bound, when suddenly he dropped something and when he bent over to pick it up, he let out a wee little fart. Well he paused, and then said excuse me, but it cracked me up for we DID start out being serious at the time. That lil fart broke the silence and sounded so loud...that i couldn't stop, to the point tears were rolling out of my eyes! It was just the timing, ya know? His face was flush with embarrasment too, which made it more funny. i started teasing him, calling him the farting dom, etc. LOL! i had a bad case of the giggles, and then he started laughing too, it became infectious, and we ended up not being able to play for a while because we couldn't get past the laughter, and he said that he couldn't aim right with tears in his eyes from laughing so hard. It felt good to simply laugh hardy, those deep belly laughs, good for the soul. This way of life needn't be stern and serious and strict all of the time and void of laughter. It is meant to feel fulfilling and enjoyable, else why bother entering in the first place? There are times to be serious, and times to be joyous, and times of silliness, etc., and stuff happens, and to eliminate those times of laughter, and spontaneity, because one erroneously may believe (and i have met folks like this too-usually those newer to the lifestyle) that bdsm should ALWAYS be serious, will not end up feeling good after a while. Just me. *smile

Hexzactly! Some have claimed that it's more like a catharsis when, I allowed them their rope as we sessioned. One in particular was a "howler", she managed to disturb more than a few scenes for others as I took her deeper into the sub-hub. This phenomenon was explained to Me early in My training, but it still took Me aback the first couple-three times that, I witnessed it, under My Hand. Patina Your spanking them for fun. There is alot that can be read into this. Fun like walking past and giving a quick spanking? Fun as in mucking around with your sub then giving a spanking. You sub might know its just for fun and enjoys it

When my subs bust out laughing, and it has happened, I end up laughing with them, ending the scene and just getting down with my goofy self. Who cares if a private scene was interrupted. Nothing beats rolling around with someone laughing and giggling at everything, especially the sex toys.

Naturally I want the girl to enjoy receiving a spanking as much as I do administering one but her gigggling/laughing etc is dependent on my own mood, too! It's fine if we're just being playful in general (in which case I'm bound to combine some tickling just to really drive her nuts) but more often than not, I'd want her zoning out and enduring in relative silence. So though I've yet to meet one, if a sub couldn't help but giggle every time, that'd be something (a limit?) to be worked on. But I think I'd also be disappointed if a sub really couldn't let go to the extent of sinking into sub-space at least some times - but I've never met one of those, either.... Focus.

I'm in agreement with Focus on this one. There are times I zone and there are times where I can't help but laugh and it's very dependent upon the energy between us at the time. Now, there have been times when the pain has been so intense during serious and perhaps dangerous edge play, that the laughter is a release, but usually it's because we're just so damn goofy when we play and we're having fun! Time and place and normally what's appropriate with the occasional uncontrollable emotional outlets.. and that goes for both of us. Gawds.. just the other day, Himself was beating me pretty good and commenting on what a nice shade of red I was turning.. then proceeded to comment on how he could get some other colors in there besides red. I deserve brownie points for not losing it until he got to 'plaid'. I've said it before, I'll say it again.. it's like living in the audience of a 3 Stooges marathon. [:D] Celeste

You know Celeste it is moments like the one you describe above that really define us as freaks... My Daddy likes to beat me with spoons while he cooks... he told me he was going to get a toybag filled with cooking implements that he has perverted and then he will be known as the "Iron Chef".... Gawd I laughed so hard when he said that, even as my backside was purple, red, green, and some black and blues mixed in.

Laughter is pretty common for me in play. The typical response: Knight (grinning): Why are you laughing? Me (laughing): Because it fucking hurts, my Lord. Knight (bigger smile): Oh, so you like it? (causes more pain) Me (laughing harder): No, my Lord I don't like it. Knight (confused look): Then why are you laughing?? And on it on it goes till he moves on to something else that doesn't cause laughter. I find I laugh when I don't really like the pain sensation. It is my way of processing it. I don't know if it's because I'm bipolar but on occasion I tend to bust out in laughter for no apparant reason/ sometimes at the most inconvenient times ...once i was at a funeral and couldn't stop laughing; it was so embarassing to say the very least. I will sometimes laugh during a spanking....

Whew, i've seen this on one other thread awhile back and was so glad to see it. i broke out in hysterical laughter when being punished by my Daddy and i felt soo badly about it. He found it kind of comical and was glad to see the happiness and then he teased me about it. i was so afraid that i'd laugh at our first public play party a week later and that it would reflect badly on him. He was much less concerned than i was and i ended up not laughing at the public play party. One thing i thought as i was being spanked and laughing was "OMG this hurts so bad and there is nothing i can do to escape it." So the laughter was nervous incredulous laughter at just how helpless i was at that moment and how much it was hurting my poor ass. It was also, akin in my mind, to falling down and bursting out in laughter when you really want to cry, almost like the intensity of it is so much that the wires get crossed and the emotions come out backasswards.

Whew! Am I glad this was brought up. I actually was thinking of starting a thread about this. The first time this happened, it surprised me. I'm thinking to myself, as I'm trying NOT to laugh.."Why do I want to burst out laughing? What's so damn funny? This hurts like a mofo!" Then, after a few minutes of giggling..which then turned into belly laughs, I went silent. What happened next was totally shocking, I started crying. Not little sniffles..these were deep sobs...thinking to myself..what the hell is this all about???? Anyone else have that happen to them?
