If the issue of spanking were raised in a scene negotion, I would assume they were talking about open handed swats on the butt, with or without a glove and would most likely assent.

If the issue of beating were raised in a scene negotiation, I'd assume that they were talking about taking me in the back alley to kick me in the gut a few times then steal my purse and would quietly find the nearest exit.

Dear Dnomyar, Ladies and Gentlemen;

In my mind's eye and personal experiences and or observations; spanking has been done with the hand, to which there are different strokes styles with the hand. From skip strokes to wet leather gloved hand, the manipulation of the fingers and the suppleness of hand, palm and wrist to rigid; offers approximately 12 sensations.

The only experience, observation and historical references towards spanking with an object in the person's hand, was limited to a slipper's sole, a hair brush and or a flat sided ruler. This reference, was made in the A. Sutherland Society, which patterened their society under the English Governess style of domination. And, the period was around the Victorian era to the 1950's period. It should be further mentioned that Governess was different from a Nanny. But, both instilled 'discipline' and 'manners' to their charges.

As discipline/punishment was dispensed with in caning; it was usually a cane made from Birch (wood). The term "To be Birched" was to say to be caned.

. . . . a Spanking umm. maybe I,m a purist cheeks/thighs/breasts/face even pudendum. You need bare skin to bare skin . . even using gloves is cheating . . how do you properly judge the force used otherwise . . and feel the trembling of the flesh under hand?
Using an instrument is flogging, being "slippered" caning etc. though generally I would use spanking to "warm" them up . . .if the cheeks are not rosie then they will not feel anything harder properly!
Plus I see no differentiation between spank "play" or punishment . .it,s still spanking wether they get release or not.

My owner calls it all one thing... "A beatin' " When he tells me to get ready for a beatin', I honestly don't know what I'm going to have striking my rosy red booty. =) It puts a real element of surprise to things, heheh

So is using a hairbrush....Brushing??? How about using a sandal? Sandaling? Have been asked to SPANK someone with both...... I think spanking is in the eye of the spanker and spankee (as opposed to spankies, which are what cheerleaders wear under their skirts)......then again boys can spank their monkeys.....

Beating does sound a bit more back alley and abusive to me..... I'll stick with biting if that's ok

i tend to define it anything that hits my rear and leaves red marks. Rather it be his hand, a paddle, crop, cane, whip, etc
