In september, i have the chance of going to the US for a couple of months to study. I have a choice of a few uni's, and I was wondering which of these states you good people think are worth a visit? My choices are:
-North Carolina
-Indiana
-Ohio
-Virginia
-California
-Maine
-Oregon

Do you mean quality of education wise or just the state itself in general?

TEXAS

Oh, wait, that's not on the list

Hmm, actually, I live in Indiana now, but I really hate it here; I always have. Maine sounds good though, and Virginia is really pretty.

If you are in Maine in October, you will get to see the leaves changing... Always my favorite time of year in New England. Unfortunately, you might also be there for the first of the snows. Not so great unless you like skiing.

Well of course,  the eastern seaboard is where we all began to part ways if that is the part of history you are dealing with, California is much warmer so you extend your summer more or less...

I like the Maine country, and you won't see much of that style country in Jolly Olde, but it will be snowy and cold, probably the same in the center of the US as well, no place for a naked slave to be naked.

Mainly the state in general, no matter where i go i will get the same amount of credit for my course. I'm just looking for somewhere that has friendly people, nice places to go, cool things to see, so I was just wondering if people could recommend anywhere!

For that range of dates, I would have to select California, because of the weather.

Then again, the school in question would sway my decision. If Virginia=UVA or North Carolina=Duke, that might make a difference. Hard to beat UVA for a history major.

I can think of no good reason to be in either Maine or Oregon in the winter, and no good reason to be in Ohio or Indiana at any time.

Oh God, I hear you on this one lol. Though I was born here, and only came back to be closer to family...I miss Texas

California if only for the weather; though I have never thought that the people there were all that friendly. Maine is beautiful; if only for its quaintness lol. Actually, if I had to choose between any that you listed, I would probably go with Virginia.

Maine or North Carolina from the list, depending on if you like it cold or warmer.  Both have friendly people.

Not on the list, would have to second Kalira's choice of Texas.  Very friendly people and a mix of weather through that time period.

I was thinking maybe going somewhere on the east coast, just because the flights are shorter and I'm wayyyyy scared of flying!
Appalachian State in North Carolina, and Old Dominion in Virginia, I've never heard of either! Do students cook for themselves over there or do they have meal plans or something? At the moment im loving cooking for myself!

If you like seafood littleone, then definitely pick Maine.

And with studying history, well, there's definitely a lot of history in the New England area, especially in Massachusetts.

Old Dominion (ODU) is a reasonable good school ... how do you feel about fucking sailors? I think there are like a billion stationed in Norfolk. Can't say that I've ever been there though.

You know, once you've crossed the ocean, a little extra fly time probably won't matter. what school are you looking at in California?
