No I am not new to CM, simply an ID change due to an asshole who would not leave me alone after a meet for friendship ONLY purposes who lives in my state.  I have met many wonderful people who have come to town on business and ask for assistance on where to eat, get a coffee and still be able to smoke inside the place (yes, one left in Maine legally), or want simply to have that coffee with exchange of ideas only in mind.  We in the community are not all nymphomaniacs and/or disease carrying mosquitos!

Status: offline 		LadyHajar, I dont know that we can be considered socially inept.  However, specifiying that lifestylers would want to connect and should have a specific place to put ads implies to me at least that the interest in meeting might have something to actually do with the lifestyle.  I have met friends traveling through my state for coffee, lunch, gambling... scads of reasons.  However, anyone that contacts me out of the blue becasue they are in the area raises an eyebrow.  Someone I ahad build a relationship online with is one thing, but just someone passing through is a bit different.
Not to mention the inherent safety issues with meeting people you dont know offline right away, unless you do so in a public place and with the proper safety measures in place.  Whe someone is coming through and only goingto be in town a day or so, those safety practices tend to be overlooked for schedules sake as b eing inconveient and could open the door to a potentially risky sitaution.

To take a more politically correct stance,
I'd suggest rather then ask for a new section that
~could~ be misused, let those poor travelers use Google instead.

Status: offline 		I honestly would hav eno problem recieving these type sof emails...i do and i pass them on to people that i know to be open and ito meetin g people of different cultures...Becausse i do not get out all that much to the assorted lifestyle events I do not feel able to be a "tourguide"  I do not live in the greater Ny area...I live all the way ou tin suffolk county and well unless someone wants to go to the local mall...or the tuesday night leather and roses meeting  or the once a month munch...well there really isnt much to be offered out here...
As a single woman I am not likely to play tourguide to a couple or a man....periodically i am able to do it for a single woman...but as i said since i really am not very out and about in the lifestyle  i am kind of useless.
 
I suppose if I didnt have a housefull of unmentionables and was ac tiv e in the community i would actually love to get to know new people and perhaps have h eopportunity to be able to reciprocate the adventure....but for today nope i just can't do it.

Status: offline 		I certainly agree that this sort of proposed section could indeed be misused as anything such as that can.  I didn't meet those that I did through a forum section.  I think if such a section appears then normal and usual safety practices should always be followed as with any meeting.  Public place, check in with someone etc....A few times I simply had someone who wanted to give me a call to get information on the area and what to do, where to go etc.  I just don't think that we, should as a community, blanketly (is that a word? If not, it is a 'Hajar word' now!) refuse to deal with folks in the life who travel and just want some assistance or to meet in a public place to exchange new ideas. I do not think it should be called 'PERSONALS' though. That word just gives the wrong impression all round. People are also free to ignore that sort of section and leave it to those who are interested.

Status: offline 		I routinely travel to a number of countries and various US states. On the whole it takes a number of trips to a single destination before you know which bars, resteraunts "borders book shops" etc are good places to go. Sometimes you get talking to people but on the whole you stay in hotels, eat meals, work, watch telly and can go days without a non work related conversation. If you use the CM discussion forums etc then perhaps you would also like to pick the brains of locals about where to go whilst in a particular location, it may or may not be "scene" related but the occasional conversation about the best method of suspending your favourite sub from the branches of an oak tree can make an interesting change from talking about the weather or local sports results with the local drunks. If someone travels and wants physical one nighters then there are plenty of options to pay for it in most countries and a more souless existance I can not imagine......well perhaps political adviser to Bush would come close......LOL

Status: offline 		Oh, Chatt22nooga, you had better reign yourself in there boy.  Even if we do not al agree with one another, throwing things like that around is NOT going to get you any fans.

Hajar, I think what we caught on was the idea of "personals", as you said.  If someone is simply loking for advice, or for a tour guide, then thats one thing.  However, reading the profile and noting how things were worded, we didnt get that impression.

If you really are interested in a "travelers meet" section,maybe a suggestion to the mods would work.  If not necessarily a section to post profiles, maybe another forum subset? We have he professional services and the sought for sale stuff, I could see a travel section in there.  Discussions about what to do in different cities, heads up on lifestyle events and munches and the like.  And if that existed, then people who DID wish t hook up could takeit upon themselves to do so through there.
Its a valid idea if its an innocent one.  People relocating could benefit from it as much as tose traveling and visiting.

I never meant that a S/D or M/S relation can come up with an unknown traveller.What i actually wanted to communicate has been ignored.It was all about a little space in CM where BDSM interested travellers could post their quiries about  places  they intend to travel .On reaching to those places ,they could interact with local group members and could exchange ideas.Dont you think some freash creative ideas can come up this way? They can watch the scenes if concerned masters allow them.Sex has nothing to do with it.Certainly there are other means for it in all countries.Will this not be helpfull to community as a whole?It is just an idea.May be it may not be workable at the moment.Yes,i am not a poster here.I have joined CM a few days back but i am into it from last couple of years.

Status: offline 		I don't know what Chattynooga has said as it seems a post was deleted and I just received the most hateful message from IT that I have received in 3 years on CM and reported it along with blocking.  This is not the behavior of a Switch or a Dominant but of a hate filled insecure one.  I have said my peace and will not return to this thread. I do not know this being though personal attacks are not ok.
 
By the way DV your idea is an excellent one!
