Aileen, is it time for a cookie?

And, to add a room that Archer somehow missed......

The 'Ask the assholes' forum.  Now THAT one would indeed be the most crowded, with the best spirited debates.

Jeff

But what would happen to the non-assholes that dared post there? And is there some asshole test one has to pass before they get a password to post[:D]

A cookie would be very good right about now.
I'm not a master so I shouldn't be answering here anyway.
Let me run and hide...with my cookie.

Yeah, to the OP: if you want to know why people aren't giving you the warm-and-fuzzy answers you might have been hoping for, go back and reread this one.

I missed it because I am just a lowly female submissive... gosh darn, when I grow up I want to be a man!

Always.  I'm the Everready bunny when it comes to cookies.

If we were going to politicize this discussion, who would be liberal and who would be conservative? Wait, wait, don't tell me. I'll Ask An Asshole. It's certain to be quite entertaining. (Great idea, Jeff!)

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Ask a Master...isn't that a man? (11/5/2006 12:05:20 PM)

Well, for one thing, "Master" in some circles is a gender neutral term. For another, it's nice to have various viewpoints...and believe it or not, Dominant Females really do have informative comments to add.

Master Fire

Kaledorus -> RE: Ask a Master...isn't that a man? (11/5/2006 12:45:22 PM)

A Master is a man who owns slaves. One would assume that in a forum entitled,
"Ask a Master" that people would pose questions to which Masters would respond.
Since there is an "Ask a Mistress" section already it would seem reasonable that such entities would respond in that section rather than here.

I think subbies and slaves can move around a tad more freely despite having their own little section.

Pray tell what is the point of having a separate category for Masters and for Mistresses if there is no respecting the central direction of the forum.

Of course it is up to the moderators as they see fit.
Some things do puzzle me such as why one needs be logged in to read the Gorean forum, I've directed some people to Collarchat and they can't read the Gorean forum as they are not members, seems odd to me.

Kalira -> RE: Ask a Master...isn't that a man? (11/5/2006 12:59:22 PM)

Heck with it.

Another...xbullx

Hmm, I am not gorean, yet I post in the gorean boards
/gasp

My best friend is  a Gorean slave; she and I have known each other for more than 25 years. Both her and her Master post here on CM. God forbid, they even go so far as to post OUTSIDE the gorean boards
/shakes head in disbelief
What is the world coming to?

She Posts everywhere...ask a mistress, ask a master, general, switches board...she starts threads, she responds to threads. In additon to this her Master often starts threads in the ask a mistress section, he starts threads here, in the ask a master section, in the slave/sub section, etc etc.

If you have a brain and know how to use it, there is nothing that can limit you.

And just incase you failed to see it, yes, that was a very blatant insult aimed at the both of you.

You don't like the way we do things in the real world...get the fuck off this side of the boards then...it's no great loss to us, believe me.

Whats wrong with having a broad range of play scenarios?

~fast reply~

I believe the main reason 'anyone' posts to a topic is because they find it interesting to them or it evokes something within they wish to express to others. Such diverse mindset is often enlightening even if it comes from a source outside what would generally be viewed as territorial in nature (IE: a specific forum to gain specific insight). The Gorean forums tend to have a narrower focus but the main forums, not so much and generally, when someone feels the urge to post, they feel they have the freedom to do so as long as it's kept within TOS guidelines. If it's not, the Mods are the ultimate forum Masters and we comply to their rules or seek other places to dwell.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Ask a Master...isn't that a man? (11/5/2006 1:23:12 PM)

I think a number of people have posted here saying Master is a gender neutral term, which I see as a valid, but somewhat baseless argument, mostly because the "Ask a Mistress" forum also exists.  So obviously, one is intended for men (or those identifying as men) and one for Women (or those....)

That having been said, I don't think anyone gives a rat's ass who posts where.  If you post something smart, it's welcome, if you post something stupid, you get bitched out (see http://www.collarchat.com/m_667226/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm) and if you're funny you get spanked.

Hooray for spankings.

Yours,

benji

Mikal -> RE: Ask a Master...isn't that a man? (11/5/2006 1:26:27 PM)

What about intersexed people, gender benders, or people like MasterFireMaam? Do we then need an Ask a Mastress? *rolls eyes*

It's all about how a person views themselves. Besides, I didn't see any disclaimer stating that only such-and-such may post in [insert forum]. We are adults (well, physically anyway), and are (theoretically) quite capable of deciding who to read/listen to, and ignoring those as we deem fit. So, if you don't like what you're reading, don't read it. Or, start another site for Men/Masters only.

Oh, and another thing, why are you assuming that a person is indeed a female/Mistress... this is the 'net afterall, and people do lie about themselves online. Check out some of the other threads where people have admited to posting under other aliases... The point being, just because someones profile says they are one thing, doesn't mean they actually are. So, some of the Mistresses replying may actually be Masters... [;)] Perhaps you (and some other posters as well) would like to have id (ie license) verification? That would surely eliminate any/all questions, eh?
