GALAHAD:
Is there someone else up there we could talk to?

Labrynth (1986):
Jareth: I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.

Jareth: Everything I've done, I've done for you. I move the stars for no one.

Sarah: That's not fair!
Jareth: You say that so often, I wonder what your basis for comparison is?

Jareth: It's only forever, not long at all

Ever After (1998):
Henry: Do you really think there is only one perfect mate?
Leonardo da Vinci: As a matter of fact, I do.
Henry: Well then how can you be certain to find them? And if you do find them, are they really the one for you or do you only think they are? And what happens if the person you're supposed to be with never appears, or, or she does, but you're too distracted to notice?
Leonardo da Vinci: You learn to pay attention.
Henry: Then let's say God puts two people on Earth and they are lucky enough to find one another. But one of them gets hit by lightning. Well then what? Is that it? Or, perchance, you meet someone new and marry all over again. Is that the lady you're supposed to be with or was it the first? And if so, when the two of them were walking side by side were they both the one for you and you just happened to meet the first one first or, was the second one supposed to be first? And is everything just chance or are some things meant to be?
Leonardo da Vinci: You cannot leave everything to Fate, boy. She's got a lot to do. Sometimes you must give her a hand.

MzMia -> RE: Memorable Movie Quotes (4/25/2007 9:27:14 PM)

Mae West- {Not sure of the movie}
When I'm good, I'm very good. But when I'm bad I'm better.

Most of my favorite movie quotes come from the Wizard of oz, here a few of them. [:D]

Wizard- A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.

Wicked Witch- I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog, too

Wizard of Oz: Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Wizard of Oz: Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable.

Dorothy-There's no place like home, there's no place like home.

Dorothy Gale: Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my!

and one of my favorites

I'll be back.......The Terminator [;)]

fairerthanshe -> RE: Memorable Movie Quotes (4/25/2007 9:48:38 PM)

Greetings MzMia,

i, too, love the Wizard of Oz...
Dorothy, "He said 'oil can'."
Scarecrow, "Oil can what?"

love that bit in the woods with the Tinman...

(fast reply)

quote:

In Star Ship Troopers:

"I'm not interested in nostalgia, Rico,
I need a corporal. You're it until you're
dead or I find someone better."

I found that soooo romantic. Just subsitute "husband" for corporal, and I'd like to use it in marriage vows.

From Serenity:

Hoban 'Wash' Washburn:    This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds:    Define "interesting".
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn:    [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?

- and don't call me Shirley...

From Phenomenon:

George Malley: Hey, would you, uh, love me the rest of my life?
Lace Pennamin: No. I'm gonna love you for the rest of mine.

From The Little Prince

The Fox: It's only with the heart that one can see clearly. What's essential, is invisible to the eye.

From Gone With The Wind

Rhett Butler: No, I don't think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.

From City of Angels

Seth: I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it. One.

slaveluci -> RE: Memorable Movie Quotes (5/2/2007 1:20:49 PM)

From one of my absolute favorites "Dancing Outlaw" (about Jesco White - the Boone Co., WV mountain dancer).  Here he's pontificating about marriage:
"Yeah, there's love in it.  But there's also sorrow, hatred, and madness in it." God, i'd love to have a t-shirt with that on it....LOL

Another favorite, "Fargo," is full of great lines but i love this one:
"I'm not gonna debate you, Jerry."  Kind of a cute catchphrase......slave luci

From Clerks:
Dante: My girlfriend just told me she's sucked 37 dicks!
Guy: In a row?

Satyr6406 -> RE: Memorable Movie Quotes (5/2/2007 4:06:38 PM)

Where to begin?

A Few Good Men:

Capt. West: Joanne, why don't you get yourself a cup of coffee.

Jo: Thank you, sir, I'm fine.

Capt. West: Commander, I'd like you to leave the room so we can talk about you behind your back.
==================================================================================================================================

Lt. Kaffee: I'll ask for the forth time. You ordered--

Col. Jessup: You want answers?

Lt. Kaffee: I think I'm entitled to them.

Col. Jessup: You want answers?!

Lt. Kaffee: I want the truth.

Col. Jessup: You can't handle the truth!

Col. Jessup: (continuing) Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns.  Who's gonna do it? You?  You, Lt.  Weinberg?  I have a greater  responsibility than you can possibly fathom.  You weep for Santiago and you curse the marines.  You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives.  And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to  you, saves lives.

You don't want the truth.  Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall.  You want need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code,  loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something.  You use 'em as a punchline.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I'd prefer
you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post.  Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to.

==================================================================================================================================

Lt. Kaffee: Harold, you don't have to have a patch on your arm to be honorable.

==================================================================================================================================

Wyatt Earp:

Wyatt's dad (Gene Hackman): Son, you know I believe in the law. After your family, it's about the only thing you can believe in but, there are people out there that don't believe in it. Now, when you find yourself in a fight with such a man, you strike first and you strike hard; to kill. Do you understand?

==================================================================================================================================

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home:

McCoy: Maybe we could cover some philosophical ground. You know ... death ... life ... death? You really have gone where no man's gone before.

Spock: We could not discuss my views on death because we would not have a common frame of referent.

McCoy: You mean I have to die in order to discuss death with you?

Spock (turning back to his console): Excuse me, Doctor. I'm receiving several distress calls.

McCoy: I'll bet you are!
(This one should put me in the running for "Geek" contest)
==================================================================================================================================
Monty Python & The Holy Grail

Cartman: Bring out your dead!

Villager: Here's your nine pence

Old man: I'm not dead!

Cartman: 'ere, now, he says 'e's not dead.

Villager: He'll be stone dead, in a moment.

Old man: I'm feeling much better.

Villager: You're not fooling anyone, ya know.

Old man: I feel happy. I feel happy.

Cartman looks around and smashes the old man on the head

Vilager: Oh, thank you, very much. See you, Thursday
(I am dioing these from memory. I know I am forgetting bits and pieces so, forgive me)
==================================================================================================================================
and last but, certainly not least

Dirty Haryy:

Harry Callahan: I know what you're thinking. You're thinking: 'Did he fire five shots or six?'. I'll tell you the truth. In all this confusion, I kinda lost track, myself but, seeing as how this is a 44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and could blow your head clean off, you've got to be asking yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?'. Well, do ya? Punk?

Peace and comfort,

Michael
