ORIGINAL: candycoatedtoxin Because being conservative is basically being without change. They live in their world, surrounded by things that are constant, and are really only UNhappy when something comes along to jar them into moving forward. I'm not trying to be patronizing, but that's just how I see it. Liberals, on the other hand, are always striving into a world of change, where something that makes them happy isn't always available. Take, just for instance, the gay rights fight happening in America. Conservative (mostly) Christians are content to know that their world isn't changing. A countrywide bill can't get passed to either ban or legalize gay marriage. Things remain the same. Liberals, on the other hand, AREN'T happy because things AREN'T changing. *shrug* I don't think that is correct. I want a change, not the current system, it sucks as far as I'm concerned.Of course almost all the changes that I disagree with are financial. Not everything that happened to this country was for the better, assuming that we never made a mistake in the direction this country took(that would be the assumption if you never looked back and said oh that was a better way of doing things), is just as flawed as thinking a new system could never be better. Is that how some define it, that conservatives all want things just like they are right now. LOL. No, some things need to be changed how they were. Again from my perspective most of what I want changed has to do with finances. I don't think any conservative or liberal want to roll back the obvious good things like civil rights.
