I think physical attraction is important but there is more to a relationship. I would prefer to find an older dominant woman. Most of the people that I know at work are older women. I feel, as we get older we lean more toward getting to know the person inside. I feel that it is also how we carry ourselves and how we look to others.

Personality is more important to me because looks fade but an ugly demeanor never changes.  At the same time, a certain physical attraction needs to be there.  i think more on the lines of a "kiss test" i look at the person and ask myself how easy it would be to kiss Him.  if the thought of putting my lips on His feels remotely icky... well, there's little a great personality can do for that.

I refuse to believe that you have to choose for one thing.

But I've gradually come to realise that I very rarely find people desireable until I've spoken to them. People become beautiful with knowing, or should anyway.

My Dom is the sexiest man I have ever met.  I'm not saying this because we almost broke up because of silliness on my part and I now need to kiss up :) - BUT - it's true.

Is he the most drop-dead gorgeous model-looking man I have ever dated?  No.  But, he is definately the most attractive - the sum of the whole and all.  (He's really attractive, don't get me wrong.)

Connection to someone else is not shallow.

I don't think I could be attracted to a troll - there has to be chemistry.  Chemistry is an amazing thing ... there's much research on it ... thinking/emotional man versus animal/beast.  We do the best we can with such conflicting pulls.

i think it's all in knowing the person....i mean when you talk to them and you connect on that level....his looks are what you see....i hope that makes sense. i think the more you know a person and spend time with Him...He becomes the most handsome man in your world anyway.....so i guess i say the first thing is personality......

Well thank al for the replies  looks like its the personallity that wins the day.  I mean i am not discounting looks but they are not the be all and end all.  I don't know even if my Master was troll like i still might be with him after all its his personallity i fell for first. before i even saw a pic of him.  I am lucky though cause he is very handsome.

This one is a bit like cake. Something that looks pretty doesn't always taste nice. However, the lumpy odd looking one can often have great taste & lots of hidden texture.
Sometimes tho you can get a great looking and great tasting cake. And sometimes that odd looking cake really is quite manky.
Also even tho I really like carrot cake, sometimes I just don't want it & would prefer at that point in time a crumpet for a change.

Good analogy. I never thought to compare the subteties of food to those of people.

With food you see, you smell, you poke....and then you bite, chew, taste, swallow, digest and feel the after affects. Some food is good for you, and some isn't. Its important to be selective in buying, making, and eating food as our health, mood, weight, teeth, and life depend on it. Impulses, cravings, and addictions can do us in, but rather than blame ourselves, we often blame the food.

In sum, the whole thing is transferable to relationships.

Darn that is good/true.  Funny how you mentioned teeth - it's the first thing I notice, then eyes, and butt (I digress).

Maybe he's very handsome because you're seeing him mostly with your heart.

Personality is definitely important, it doesn't matter how attractive one is to the eyes if your personalities don't mesh.  I got lucky on both aspects, not only does my Dom have a wonderful personality - He is very attractive.  He's the total package for me.
