Subspace is a glorious, glorious thing that tends to happen after a very good scene. Your head is floating around somewhere and you don't really know what is going on. It is a grand and wonderful thing that can't really be explained except to experience it for yourself.

I'm awfully curious too.  I found this on wikipedia:

sub-space...a state of mind. It's usually not found online although many excellent definititions and examples can be found with a simple google search.

Aww... to be fair he did just ask a question.

Edited because I can't type.

thank you, AquaticSub for sticking with the topic and posting an non-judgemental response.

and to be even more fair, if you search for all the threads that he partakes in, they are all the same...they end with him bemoaning the fact that he will never have what he wants/needs because no one understands him...

Is it wrong that I'm just too full of turkey and yummy ale to care enough to judge? *Grins*

Just playing, it's a valid question if you are new to the lifestyle and haven't ever scened with a good dom or domme before. I knew that my dominant (who was the time still my boyfriend) was the man for me when he somehow managed to put me in subspace from rather vanilla sex. I still have no clue how he did it...

Yes but doing all that research on him would require work and frankly, I don't care enough. *grins* If he starts whining you can use my riding crop. Until then, let's answer a question that was asked in a reasonable enough way. Remember, we train with both positive and negative reforcement!

Mmm... training... crops...

you don't have to participate if you have nothing productive to add

Don't be getting all smarmy with me Michael; you don't want to see me in a bad mood [8D]

juliaoceania -> RE: what's this "sub-space" people keep talking about? (11/23/2006 6:33:37 PM)

In my mind subspace can take on different aspects. There is submissive headspace, which is a precurser for subspace in my opinion, and that is easy for me to find. There is a little sinking that I do into subspace from him pulling my hair, ordering me to do an action, tying me up... and then there is being fully into subspace which can be accomplished through slapping my face, beating my behind, and more heavy stimulus. The heavier subspace it a chemical soup of endorphins and neurotransmitters that are overloaded through too much sensation of some sort. It is literally a high.

There are a lot of threads about this, but so far no two subspace moments have been identical for me, and I have only been deep enough to almost not be able to talk once... and I was only able to utter my safeword at that point and not a word more. He slapped me while I was blind folded and it was not the slap that did it, but how shocked I was that he had slapped me that put me over the top.
