I have gone into subspace several times, and as julia stated, none of those times were exactly alike. The first time was during one of my first impact play scenes with Daddy at home. He used floggers and whips and the quirt on me and I just kind of went into this hazy, dazed place, where I could not really communicate very well at all. It was so nice and I remember Him looking at me as He untied me and said, "Ahhh, My girl is floating, enjoy it." I did. [:)]
The first time we played publicly, I was tied to a St. Andrews cross, and He did the same, but it was longer in duration and I was blindfolded, nude, and knew (at some point) that people were watching our scene - I could hear them talking softly around us. The entire thing was just so wonderful and exciting and I think the body chemicals were already elevated before we even started. He checked in on me from time to time, but I couldn't say anything other than a whispered "Daddy." I was really, really out of it when we finished - warm, chilly, completely drunk on endorphins, and I couldn't have told you my name to save my life. Daddy had to re-dress me and take me to the aftercare area at the dungeon, where I drank lots of water, and finally landed back on earth. He held me for the longest time, which is what I tend to need as I come back down.
The last time I went into subspace, I was tied down to the bed at home, and He used more impact toys. It seems like the repeated bite of the quirt on me is what tends to send me over, and this time I was enduring more pain than I had before and it started to make me feel really good, and in the end, I was crying - not from pain, but from the sheer intensity of what we had shared and from a mish-mash of emotions. It was wonderful and again, wasn't like anything I had experienced before.
Intense sexual play sends me to a different place, not subspace per se, maybe "slutspace"? (just made that word up) Because that type of feeling is a place where I become very willing to do whatever He requires of me in order to maintain that level of arrousal and connection.
Don't know if that helps or just makes things more complicated. [sm=confused.gif]
