Does it have to do with photography?

Top-o-the-page repeat.

I'm not seeing how photography ties into ALL the clues of:

Substantial
Resounding
Scenic

To get the right answer, you might have to be a deep thinker.

pissthirstysub -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/12/2010 9:21:33 PM)

Oh I didn't see all the clues I guess

sappatoti -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/12/2010 9:22:42 PM)

Former gold mining rivers that cut through gorges, which means they are awesome white water rafting rivers that, when the weather is right, also makes for some great nude rafting, in which those fishing on the banks could then decide whether to join in the nudity or not, but everyone needs to be wary of all those photographers who might just snap some photos of nude people in their scenic shots which then get uploaded to Picasa or Flickr, with the result being that those in the photos might be offered centerfold gigs for various magazines, none of which being National Geographic.

The clues were "hidden" in my answers to each wrong answer.  And now we have "deep" to add.

Did you want to limit your answer a bit? LOL! We've got some new players y'know, so they might take the depth of your answer the wrong way... LOL!

That's what I'm looking for: "Spectacular gorges" is what these rivers have in common.  But, of course, sappa wins!

In order:

1) The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River
2) THE Grand Canyon (cut by the Colorado River)
3) Black Canyon of the Gunnison
4) Royal Gorge (cut by the Arkansas)

OK... I was just trying to cover all the possibilities...

Let's see...

[... flipping a coin ...]

I choose... rivers that were panned for gold.

BentUnit -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/12/2010 9:56:03 PM)

The answer will always be "Triangle".

sappatoti -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/12/2010 10:00:11 PM)

Since you're being so generous, thanks.

OK... should be an easy one...

Petroselinum crispum
Salvia officinalis
Rosmarinus officinalis
Thymus vulgaris

How 'bout scientific names for herbs in the song "Scarborough Fair"?

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme,
Remember me to one who lives there,
She once was a true love of mine.

sappatoti -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/12/2010 10:09:25 PM)

Yep. See? I said it would be easy. (My brain isn't firing on all synapses.) [:D]

I believe they are all herbs.  Sexy herbs to be exact.

trocar - thoracic forceps - hemostatic clamp- Tongue Retractor Blade

The next quartet is also pretty easy:

1) New Mexico
2) California
3) Arizona
4) Texas

First clue:  This is a unique quartet.  That is, these four States and only these four States have this in common.

igor2003 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/13/2010 7:52:15 AM)

Well, the quick answer is that they are the only states bordering Mexico.  But I would assume you have something more devious in mind.

LanceHughes -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/13/2010 7:57:33 AM)

Nope, nothing more devious.
Take it away igor, you win!

igor2003 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/13/2010 8:44:35 AM)

Wow!  That WAS easy!

Okay, next quartet:

Renaissance
Tempo
Evergreen
Tranquility

LanceHughes -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (8/13/2010 8:58:17 AM)

Top of my head, that is, NO googling was harmed in making this answer. LOL!

Proposed names for the Lunar Base, of which "Tranquility" was selected.
