Incidentally, your HIV alarmist statement doesn't really hold true anymore.
The highest NEW HIV infections are among hetero young african american females and hispanic men and women under 35, and globally, in supposedly hetero african men.

I got my information from a college course I aced just a few months ago. I learned in class that many gay men have unprotected sex, both anal and oral. I also saw a gay man on a talk show that talked about "barebacking" being "the in thing".........and yes, he was HIV positive.

Sadly information that is fed to us and studied to pass exams etc doesnt have to necessarily be correct information. One would hope it is, but new stats are always coming in. I am not saying either one of you are wrong, both have obviously gotten information from what you both consider reliable sources etc. Different organisations often "play" with stats in order to help their particular cause or benifit over another.
Personally when it comes to unprotected sex, I am all for it, provided I am in a secure one on one relationship. When swinging I have always insisted my partner use condoms with other women and that other men use condoms with me. In fact almost all the swingers in my circle demand the same. They have unprotected sex with their partner only.

Oh come on.  Who doesn't love some good ol' fashioned homophobia?

I wonder, can you get HIV by shoving an unprotected fork in someone's ass?

Yours,

benji

LOL, well to be fair she did also state she had gained informaton from a college course.
Did all the sources you mention have the same stats? Just interested, nothing more, TIA

How can you be so insensitive! Haven't you heard of the thousands of forks suffering from AIDS and HIV! I expected better from you!

Well Benji, I bet if you embedded it far enough into their vascular beds to extract infected blood......and then ate your favorite delight off of said blood-laden-fork, at the same time, piercing your own gums and swishing around the rectal blood........

There's a small chance you might get HIV.
You'd get HCV quicker though.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Is He bi? (11/26/2006 8:30:49 PM)

Yanno, somehow, the plight of those poor forks doesn't touch me, because I learned in grade school that forks can't talk, therefore don't have feelings.

And anything an underpaid, overworked babysitter tells you has to be true.

Yours,

benji

Her previous statement was that gay men are the highest population of HIV infections followed by drug abusers (and not even specifically, "IV drug users" as is the proper classification.)  Now her info to back that up surrounds a college class and a talk show, and the only validation is that 'many men bareback' and that a guy talking about barebacking on TV was HIV positive.

And yes, the CDC, UN AIDS and AVERT, plus most major AIDS orgs worldwide publicize the issues that I've mentioned --
-- Hepatitis is far more virulent than HIV.
-- The new population spurts in HIV infections are in (US) AA females, (US) hispanics under 35 and (World) hetero african men.
-- While 47% of the infected population in the US probably acquired HIV through MSM contact (males having sex with males), get this: Since the beginning of the epidemic, the number of heterosexual infections has increased dramatically. According to CDC estimates, heterosexual contact led to about one third of new AIDS diagnoses and one third of new HIV diagnoses in 2004.  And, about 19% of all adults and adolescents diagnosed with AIDS have been female. Among new AIDS diagnoses in 2004, and among new HIV diagnoses, this proportion was 27%.

And if we think we have it bad here in the US -- how about 5.5 million living with HIV and over 1,000 deaths per DAY?  http://www.avert.org/aidssouthafrica.htm

Incidentally, there are interesting findings about HIV transmission through oral sex,. including three NIH-funded studies, on the AVERT website -- http://www.avert.org/orlsx.htm

sleazy -> RE: Is He bi? (11/26/2006 9:37:55 PM)

To return, momentarily to the point.... :)

If the OP is not happy then they should get up and walk away from the whole situation.

Another point that seems to have been missed (speed reading @ work) is the possibility that whilst possibly bi-curious at the moment, the male concerned could well try it and decide it really aint floating his boat after all!

Surely not everyone here has actually turned out liking everything they were once merely curious about, am I the only person who has wondered what would xxxxx be like and then found myslef at least ambivalent about something, if not actually a complete turn off?

Whilst im throwing moggies amongst the pigeons I was curious that way once, tried it a few times, different people, different situations, net result every time - nothing at all, no sexual reaction at all!

It is rather stereotypical to talk about all gays as 'swishie'
