Not sure where the new thread title came from, but it should be "Sieg heil," not "Sieg hiel" (and of course not "Zieg heil").

And it even looks nicer written in pink, doesn't it, Madame ?

Nevertheless, no matter how hard You try, You're still not going to convince this sissy to indulge in scat play, Madame! Why won't You believe him when he tells You it's a hard limit ?! [;)]

Maybe if President Bush had discussed Réforme De Sécurité Sociale on his recent tour, instead of what he did talk about, he would have had a much better chance of selling his merde de taureau to the nation. Perhaps if his father had said "lisez mes lèvres ... aucun nouveaux impôts" he would have been a two-term president, too! And would this country have gone to war if we had been told that Saddam had ADM (Armes de destruction de masse) ? WMD don't sound quite as frightening in French, do they, Madame? Maybe that's why the French were so opposed to the war ... so what if Saddam has ADM, what's wrong with that? ... they sound so sweet and cute, leave the poor man alone!

So do You think Saddam had ADM, Madame ? (oooh, that sounds like something that could be a palindrome! [sm=lol.gif] LOL )

Respectfrilly Yours,

sissy maid lola

You know this reverse psychology and topping from the bottom has got to stop Sissy. [sm=lol.gif]; We've never negotiated scat, so clearly you want me to go there, am just doing it too slowly for you.

I didn't think I loved Bush senior, but compared to his son, the Dad can have 10 terms in my view, and he can lie about taxes all day, at least that didn't cause anyone's demise (I don't think).

No they don't, and that's my point Sissy; tell Everyone Saddam has "Armes de destruction", everyone would laugh and say "oh you silly man it sounds like something Pennicillin can cure cheaply enough." M

o' I jes sawed dis an though it was hylareous. 'So i jest had two right sum'thin in hear to.

I just want to say that this is an excellent post and I am surprised (not) that there aren't more comments on this.

It is even funnier to not see any posts here from some of those who post everywhere else. Hmmmm, should I wonder?

Again, at the risk of redundance, I appreciate this thread being posted here.

Maybe that is because those of us who have been here a long time have seen many threads about people's spelling and grammar.

DublinSwitch -> RE: SPELLING AND GRAMMMARRRRRR Forum Nazis ! (5/25/2005 6:09:48 AM)

I voted 'zeig heil', have the Eats Shoots and Leaves book, read it, ADMIT to being a bit anal about spelling grammar etc etc...but I have a dark and secret confession...I just can't, not at all, not ever, remember which 'their / there' is correct in what context.

Seriously - I just can't do it. I read a lot, write a lot, have masters degree etc etc and just can't get the damn thing straight in my head.

And then I see some other persons spelling error and I say to myself 'muppet' in my best condescending snotty tone...carry on...then into a situation when those 2 cursed words need to be written 'there / their', and my whole world collapses.

Surely someone else has this problem? Please don't let me be alone!!

OK - have a second dark and sinister secret - can't tell my right from my left half the time. Am I alone in these joint afflictions? Is this a disease? Does this make me weird? ok - weirder???

Grammar 101: "their" is possessive meaning belong to them. "there" is for all the other times you want to use it except when you want the possessive.[:)] Hope that helps.[:)]

I try to do my very best when communicating. I endeavor to spell everything correctly. I try to punctuate correctly.

I've been typing long enough that I very rarely need to spell check a word.

I tend to go over my post once before hitting send and once after my reply has been posted.

I immediately correct any typo I spot. I proofread in my head when reading other people's replies/posts. I do become annoyed when people use "u" as the word you... "ur" in place of your or you're. I don't think typing "gr8" is indicative of intelligence, but I also understand that it may just be a matter of being lazy.

I don't go out of my way to correct someone in a public forum, such as these boards. But if someone approaches me and wants to talk one-on-one I expect them to type while adhering to certain criteria. I will not spend my time seething with frustration, trying to decipher what a person may be trying to say when I could be speaking to someone willing to put his/her best foot forward.

To each his/her own -- unless that person wishes for me to offer them my time and patience.

I do the same thing. English was the one subject in school I always aced and I was one of those hundredth percentile spellers when they did those silly tests. I also edit my posts if I've made a typo, hell, I even correct myself when I'm IM'ing! LOL

It just amazes me that so many people don't take the time to make sure their profiles look like they are SOMEWHAT edgumacated <wink>; if someone presents him/herself looking like they cannot express themselves in their native language (was that grammatically correct???) who would want to initiate a conversation with them? Of course I'm only talking about English speaking people, the errors the furrners make is usually quite charming LMAO... oops, "foreigners"!

Oh, and as to the use of "dominate" as a noun? I saw "dominant" used as a verb on one profile! LOL

oops, wrote my name twice, sheesh!

Sorry to be picky VAneophyte, but you meant "Verstehe?", not "Verstande". Verstande is a noun meaning understanding. Verstehe is the verb meaning understand.

Alles klar, in Ordnung [:)]
