Dear FelinePersuasion, Ladies and Gentlemen;

In the art of spanking, I will have to agree that the hand can be used and produce intense body markings and or bruisings, just as much as a paddle or can be full of many sensations. I use and have documented 12 different strokes, as well as different positions that help and or don't help submissives/slaves manage the spanking strokes.

The scratches though peaked my interests and perhaps proffer some possible explainations for such scratches. They are as follows: 1. The spanker is wearing a ring of some sort and if the setting has slipped into the palm area, can claw finely the spankee's skin. 2. Rough hands and or skin. Sometimes men's hands are like sandpaper.
Fingernails might be chipped or split, to which at a correct angle will tear over the skin service--appearing like a scratch. Hang-nails also can be of some concern as well. 3. Slight ridges in the buttock cheeks that naturally exist, especially towards the sweet spot and folds of skin, may be roughed up some as to appear as a tear or scratch. 4. Wearing jewelery, such as watches, bracelets, buttons or rough portions of clothing which drag over the skin could cause marks. All aren't exactly 'alarming' but something to consider.

Skin type also has a great deal to do with things. I also like putting the spankee into a position where the buttocks cheeks are taunt as to smooth out any ridges to the skin. In addition, I like warming up the spankee before using other strokes. Another consideration, the skin covering different parts of the same person will react differently to impacts, done in the same stroke and style by the same person.

That said, I can appreciate concerns by Owner Dominants when other Dominants work on their slave/submissive's body. I am glad he takes an interest in such.

Interesting pics, Riot. Feline's pics were no longer available so I didn't get to see those. However, stricking with a cane and stricking with a hand are going to leave very different marks and I do not see how comparing the marks will determine which was more intense.

I am someone who does not bruise very easily, but if the skin is broken I will stay marked for a long time. Just recently he beat the hell out of me twice within just a few days and the only bruising was from a well placed kick with his boots. However, I am still showing a bruise on my inner thigh from a car ride where he was absent-mindedly rubbing me with his thumb. I bruise more from pressure applied over long periods of time than from repeated strikes.

Feline, it sounds like you had a good time, so I don't see how it could be abusive.

his hang upI guess is he's read in all the safe spanking books an stuff your not supposed to bruise or break skin, "properly done" spankings are not supposed to by books on the subject bruise or bleed or break skin, I know of course that certain play does indeed bruise, he says it looks like the spanker had spanked me with sandpaper, made me bleed underneath the skin and should you wipe the area with rubbing alcohol, A it'd sting badly that you'd come away with blood.

Ok.. seeing as I was there I was the one that took the pic and I watched on and off the spanking I can say first hand A) the spanking really wasnt that bad and B) her butt didnt look that bad eather.... My butt has been a lot worse then that and you cant really get a good idea of what her butt looked like from the photo the lighting in Master apartment was bad.

I know her daddy and he is a bit protective and may be over reacting a tad bit!!

Yes She took the pic for me, she can attest it wasn't some gorey mess my daddy is seeing lol.

I think maybe it's just that he can't see the ass for himself at the time, can't check it out can't verify the butts fine.Perhaps next time I am spanked he will be able to be the one blistering it and see for himself the ass is fine, is not bleeding, and nothing's bveen broke.

Deep down (or maybe on the surface) I fancy a good bare arsed spanking while engaged in sexual fantasy and a right good fucking! Yeah. Even getting myself being reduced to tears (not sure if reduced is the right word) is good, at least at the 'hands' of a woman, but it would be as a sign of submission rather than a result of pain.

TammyJo said it first, and best, and Marie was pretty accurate in pointing out that it really is not relevant how hard someone else wails on someone else. And, it isn't a contest, either.

So...my one useful comment is that asprin, or NSAIDs* (Tylenol, ibuprofen, etc.) can increase bruising very dramatically in small doses, and with ASA (asprin) it can be just a couple taken 3-4 days before the spanking. So if you don't want bruising, lay off the otc drugs. (Of course if you are on prescription blood thinners -- coumadin, notably -- you gots LOTS of other issues to worry about.)

OK, there's a place for book learning and there's a wealth of good books on just about every subject under the BDSM sky but...

Aargh! I'm a very instinctive person and my first reaction to the "properly done" line was to growl! When you're getting bent outta shape cos something's not just how it looks in a book, then it's time to throw the book away!

A properly done spanking fulfils the goal you set out to achieve, whether that's a bit of a pink glow just around the "sit spots" or some major blue/black/purple bruising from hip to thigh. Now, I'm not saying that you set out to achieve a certain level of bruising, I'm talking about the psychological goals.

As far as I can see, the psychological requirements of the scene (you enjoyed yourself!) were met, so whatever your ass looks like, your Daddy should really be pleased for you and be looking forward to doing it himself!

Im curious why your Daddy thinks it was abusive to draw blood? Or to scratch you? Was this negotiated ahead of time that the dom in question wouldn't? Everyones body is different. So how you bruise is going to change from time to time. There are often times that my Dominant will scratch me with his fingernails inbetween say 10-15 spanks...(which btw i love). It has the possiblity to draw blood. Doesn't make it abusive. Wouldn't bother me if it drew blood. I couldn't bring up the picture to see the marks...but many are saying it looked mild. You thought it was intense..thats all that matters. It doesn't sound to me like it was abusive in any way. It sounds to me like your Daddy might be a wee bit jealous. Just a thought. Good luck.
