Even though I live in Florida, south of Gainesville, I am going w/ the Buckeyes.

I also think that Michigan got the short end of the deal,
mind you I am not trying to take anything away from the Gators.
I'm just not a Gator fan, I tend to root for the 'Noles.

OK, let's hope Tennessee wins by like 48-0, and Penn State commits 12 penalties and six turnovers.

That should be fun.

There are "punishments" (remember, I'm not a pain slut) or "service" (my preference)  for various situations.....first downs, scores, turnovers, penalties, etc (it can be as wide as your imagination, lots of things go on in a football game).  And these can be applied to either team.

BYU       38
Oregon    8

Okay, I'm 2-0 lol.

Even more fun if Tennessee wins 48-47 and plays a sloppy game too. Katy will be a very busy girl!

KatyLied I am really intrigued about your bet. I remember a bet with a woman back in the early sixties. This was a time that orally pleasing a woman was considered not normal. Even by some sic! At least in a small town like Hershey, Pa. Being sub, and like to give better than rceive, I bet on the team I thought would loose. So I wonder! Do you really want Penn State to win. With there offense, or should I say no offense, did you really think they had a chance? At least now I have some consolation if PSU looses, wondering whats happening to you.

KatyLied -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/22/2006 8:39:36 AM)

Well, I dislike Tennessee.  Their team, their uniforms, their coach, and especially their ugliest end zones in the country, that blech checkerboard.  Even I do not know what torments are in store for me.  But it will be fun.  I want my Dom to be in a good mood, so I hope Penn State wins and hoping for something big from Posluszny (he's precious).  [&:]

Lordandmaster -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/22/2006 9:25:31 AM)

I was shall we say on the wrong side of that score.  I'm very surprised.

Anyway, 1-1.

Rice takes on Troy tonight. Go Owls.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/23/2006 12:20:42 AM)

Make that 1-2.  Rice just bombed against Troy.

Glad I'm not caitlyn's boyfriend TONIGHT.

Damn [&o]. 2-1

Lordandmaster -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/23/2006 6:38:40 PM)

I'm 2-3 after splitting the Papa Johns and New Mexico Bowls.  I'll be 3-3 if the Utah-Tulsa score holds up.  (And 1-0 against caitlyn.  Yay!)

KatyLied -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/23/2006 6:45:48 PM)

It's all about your competition with Caitlyn, isn't it?

Lordandmaster -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/23/2006 10:17:10 PM)

Well, at least till the Penn State game.

Edited to add: Utah won.  It's Lam 1, caitlyn 0.

So KatyLied, I guess you were right.

Okay, below are my picks (in red).

New Mexico Bowl
New Mexico vs. San Jose State

Oops.

Papajohns.com Bowl
East Carolina vs. South Florida

Okay.

Armed Forces Bowl
Utah vs. Tulsa

Missed this one.

hehe.  Don't get too excited.  That party has been cancelled, due to circumstances beyond my control.  You now have have permission to root for Penn State.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/24/2006 8:43:11 AM)

So it's Lam & Level 3-3, caitlyn 2-4.

Right?

Edited to add: By the way, it turns out that San Jose State was favored in that game.  We all picked New Mexico in an upset, and we all were wrong.  I have to admit I'm not really too up-to-date on San Jose State football...

lol Lam, yeah, some of these games, ahh, I will admit to having a bit of guesswork involved [:D].

Lordandmaster -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/24/2006 8:53:14 AM)

Unless you're a scout or a conscientious reporter or something (and I swear some of these fucking reporters know less than I do), I don't think it's possible to be too well informed about more than the top 20 teams or so.  Even that is pretty good.

caitlyn -> RE: NCAA Bowl Schedule (12/24/2006 11:58:05 AM)

Is it just me, or have most of these games really sucked?

I survived the New Orleans trip. I wasn't that upset ... Rice is a small campus and everyone pretty much knew that Chase Clement wasn't going to play. We aren't the same team without him.

Troy has the worst fans I've encountered. I thought Longhorn fans were sort of bad, and last season I went to the Texas/Ohio State game in Columbus, and was shocked that people could be such complete dickheads at a sporting event ... but Troy fans win both the bowl game and the shit-4-brains award, hands down.

My strategy of picking the team with the home field advantage isn't working very well. Then again, who can predict games with such huge turnover/penalty margins. The big guy here, that played at Texas, says that what fans never know, is how seriously a team takes the bowl game. Speaking from personal information, I took a final on Tuesday afternoon and had about ten varsity football players in the classroom. Based on my interaction with the Troy student body, my guess is that if you can make change at a fast food window, that's your final (not that I'm bitter about the game or anything ... [;)][;)][;)]). Then again, what do you say about a institute of learning, with a sports team with the motto, "We Ready!"
