Well, since the only time I answer my mail is to fuck with someone who needs a good mind fucking, I guess I am fake

/shrug

it feels good to be a fake for a change [:)]

Missokyst -> RE: Fakes (12/11/2006 10:03:35 AM)

As someone who joined fairly recently I can tell you I was swamped with email.  I didn't answer very many of them at first because as a woman, I know that the ones that hit on you as soon as you hit the water are the ones that will do you, and move on to the next new thing ASAP.

With all due respect, aren't you making a gross generalization here?

It is a known fact that newbies are the best people to contact in any online contact/dating venue, in terms of making a potential connection.

As a percentage, one will find that veterans-still-without-matches on online contact sites are more likely to have already become jaded from all the BS, and/or have their bars set too high.

I am sure this has been discussed over and over, but who is it and why are 90% of all the newby's fake profiles? is it a come on for one lonely soul or a site rating deal. I would have to guess over 70% of the members listed at this site are fake.
and yes, I try to say hi to all new members but it has become obvious that many listed are scams.

Yes, it's true that there are many fakes here and elsewhere on other online contact sites. However, it has become a politically incorrect act to come onto the boards here and whine about it. Hence, you will rarely, if ever, receive an overall positive response to such an OP.

Consider the fact that many people are really children in adult bodies. Consider how easy it would be for such people to post whines about alleged fakes, based primarily upon negative emotional responses they felt as a result of these so-called fakes saying, doing, or not doing something that the OP wanted them to do... if we warmly accepted whines about fakes here on the boards.

In other words, who here gets to define who is a fake and who isn't? Where is the line drawn, and who gets to draw it?

Missokyst -> RE: Fakes (12/11/2006 11:48:31 AM)

That's assuming we are all looking.  If I were here hoping to meet someone I MAY consider changing my view, but I doubt it.  It has always been my policy to choose locally.  It just makes sense for me to be available for men who are in my area, that I can interact with on a regular basis.  As a business owner, I am unlikely to relocate to a potential's city (unless its close).

As far as becoming jaded or having the bar set to high.. I will worry about that when I become an old lady with 50 cats.  So far, my way has worked out fairly well.  The men in my life have given me joy, and even when we end, we remain friends.
No regrets.

Just wondering what would you call those who Do answer you with a netural  or even positive three word answer and will continue soing such answers.  the "Hi ,likes your  note. "  or the "would you tell me about your self ", never expanding  any other info about them selfs.   That seems to brng on the faker reaction in our book.. least in Our opinion.[8|]

Most are probably one or more of the following:

Clueless
Lazy
Disinterested

Operative word being profiles...
gotta say, one of the things that makes you go hmmmmmmmmmmmm on a faker thread!!!  Too funny!![sm=banana.gif]

Edited to add:  I just noticed 4 posts ago I got a second paddle.  WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!

drawntothedark -> RE: Fakes (12/11/2006 1:16:36 PM)

If they are a Dom within my age range in my area, I have meet with them on a first meet. (just about all of them anyway). Only one person was a fake. He lied about his age (by about 10 years and etc. etc.) I don't get upset because it gives me good material to laugh at and everyone else I have meet were from what I could tell.............real. I have not had very many bad experiences at all.

Why would collar me or any other on line thing be diffrent from real life. Fake people are everywhere. There is nothing you can do about it. Whinning about it doesn't help. Focus on postive things.
:)

I imagine by profiles he was referring to was his, his partner's and their joint profile.

kc692 -> RE: Fakes (12/11/2006 4:42:20 PM)

My mistake, thought it might be some stray male dom profiles he had laying around.  You are correct, those three probably were the only ones he was referring to.

Maybe since they are new, they are just trying to get their bearings and your emails are too overwhelming for them?  Or maybe since they are new they are not sure what to say....why not back off the freshmeat stuff, and give them time to get adjusted?

just a thought.

I actually was not talking about the emails or private messages at all. I was only referring to some of the profiles that get posted on a daily basis. It is rather humourus to read them some times but I had to ask the question just to see the responses. I was joking about the Fresh Meat thingy.
Thank you for your reply though.

You never said hi to me  or did you mean you try to say hi to all new female members?

Powerman40 -> RE: Fakes (12/22/2006 4:37:45 AM)

Hi Thompsonx , I do prefer the female members but I'll give you my standard welcome message:
Hello and welcome to Collar me. *S*
Enjoy your search.

mkswing -> RE: Fakes (12/22/2006 7:52:09 AM)

so if all the new profiles fake, does that mean all the old profiles are genuine??[:D]

Not that I am looking for anyone but occasionally I browse the profiles and it appears royalty wouldn't be good enough for some people. The amount of people who want far more than their assets can realistically attract never ceases to surprise me.

I have come across one or two profiles that have intrigued me but even if I was tempted the distance would prove too great. The chances of hitting it off with someone and overcoming all the obstacles even if they are genuine are slim from such a small pool of people.

enigmaslave -> RE: Fakes (12/22/2006 8:17:10 AM)

Ok. Go ahead call me naive, because I know you will, and I already know it’s true.

How are you able to differentiate the real and fake profiles??

Pixiepunk -> RE: Fakes (12/22/2006 8:41:29 AM)

***side note***

I've never gotten a message from a Nigerian scammer. *sad face*
Why aren't I good enough for them? [:o]
