Then leave, truly no country needs a self-loathing critic.

(To save you posting 'I already am', let me know if you need help with the fare)

God bless England.

Omg - you can truly say that what i mentioned are not draw backs to living in London?
I dont loathe myself or the country but i am honest enough to know that the UK has its flaws.

Nope im not leaving at present and i think ur attitude just because i disagree with ur rose tinted outlook stinks.

That's like saying to someone you love "I love you babe, but you have to admit, you're ugly"

Anyway, I love London and England, as I said, you don't have to.  And I think your attitude stinks so we're probably equal.

No its not its like accepting the place you live has flaws and it so does.
The town i live in has flaws - i accept it.
I can still like where i live without deluding myself its perfect.

I love the theatres in London and i love some of the sights but i dont love it all.

Miss:

Visit the SF, CA area - restaurants we got. I'd say we have the best food available anywhere in the world within the same span of miles. And then we have Napa - some of the best wine to be found anywhere in the world.

We don't have socialism, but then we are not surveillanced like London - not yet anyway!

ok look, I love England and I love London, if you look at the history of this country it's appalling that these days all anybody ever does is criticise it.  I can completely understand Americans who say 'USA Love it or Leave it'.  I wouldn't dream of running down my own country or its capital.  I'd probably feel the same wherever I lived in the world.  I think if you've already left the country and criticise it from elsewhere, you should be hunted down and shot.

Twice.

A video for you.

Really good vid.

For city people London is great, and I love the odd isit but I always want a good bath when I leave and after a day the overcrowding gets to you. But for theater, Museums etc it is un beatable. I was in Chicago last week and loved the visit, the aqaurium is world class, but the meuseums whilst "world class" are second leage to those in London. It is only by visiting somewhere else that you can truly apprciate what there is "at home". I have never "loved" London but at the momet I have yet to visit a city which is quite so amazing in so many ways. Florence I  love, Chicago was great, Paris (on a good day i nice) Amsterdam is fun, LA, unique but a bit tame, none can compare to London. I suspect the only one that may is New York and at the moment I have not spent any time there other than the airport but I suspect that it's lack of real "timlessness" may be its short comming.

Anywhere can be good if you are with the right people....the right place without the people is just plain.....lonely.

MC I'm in Amsterdam for 6 hours next week............................at the airport...!!!!.... wonderful.
