SlyStone -> Good Lord (1/16/2007 7:46:18 PM)

What is with this my master is my God or lord or knight or king business. I mean is this something the women here really believe or is it poetic license, cause I don't get it. I figure a  man is a man and that should be enough but maybe that's just me settling for my dismal reality without lordship or knighthood or sainthood an even remote possibility. Woe is me.

Is this coming from the male dominant or is this something created by the female submissive, and if so, what do you get out of it?  Does it excite you to use such a title or do you do it to please your dom/master. Do you  believe your dom/master is more than a man? Do you need to believe that?

I ask this because to me BDSM is about as raw and real as you can get but sometimes it sounds like a twisted renaissance faire with a touch of star trek convention around here and it makes me wonder what is real and what is fantasy and illusion in the D/s relationship circa 2007 via collarchat.com.

bandit25 -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 7:52:31 PM)

Oh, I think it's prolly a combination of both, don't you?  I'm sure the dom/mes enjoy it (who wouldn't?), but I think the subs do also.  I don't know that subs truly think of their Doms/Masters as more than a man, but these are often titles of respect or a way of letting the dom know just how much you do think of him.

Um, don't go there with the Star Trek convention.  That was real!

domiguy -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 7:56:21 PM)

Welcome to the club!  If you love the SCA(not sure what it is...but I was taught to poke fun and hate such things), have seen every episode of Star Trek...lost your virginity to a Star Wars figurine(and still think it was the best sex you've ever had) ,think that who ever wrote the "Gor" books is the greatest author to have ever lived.  Renassiance faires? who doesn't love a renassiance faires?  Is that similiar to dressing up to go see the "Rocky Horror Picture Show?"....Do people still do that?

You have found your home.

out.

D.G.

p.s. Jesus please protect me from your followers.

First off, it would be a mistake to assume that terms of endearment reflect belief or religion.

BDSM is no more raw and real than anything else in life ... working for a living, rearing unmentionables, etc.  Your statement makes me wonder how much "real" experience you have.

Since when are renaissance fairs and Star Trek conventions anymore indulgent in fantasy than car dealerships or presidential elections?  I think collarme does a provide a safer and more friendly forum for newbies (usenet can be brutal), and I believe that is a very good thing!  As a result, there is a higher incidence of fantasy presented as reality.  It's no biggie.  Just like anything else, it takes reality to counter fantasy.  But sometimes it takes some time (and safe space) to work up the courage to approach reality.  I think collarme provides (or can provide) that safe space.

It's all good.  [:)]

Ever cry out "Oh MY God" whilst in the throws of some major orgasmic experience?...well most Dominants I am sure say "yes, my dear, scream for me"..~g~...hence "my lord" may be appropriate...[:D]....just enjoy..Tempting

juliaoceania -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 8:10:19 PM)

Why do subs/slaves call their top type person anything whether it be sir, master, dom, daddy, or any of the rest? It is just another honorific that is mutually agreed upon. My Daddy calls me his strumpet, is that somehow "far out"? What about calling a sub "pet"? It is all in what people like hearing in my opinion... My only problem is when some random top-type person believes I owe them some sort of "title" based upon their own inflated sense of self... they can take that up with my Daddy.

mstrjx -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 8:14:12 PM)

Fine.  You caught me in a sordid fib.

I'm none of the above.  I'm a slug.  Forever hear me, uh, what sound do I make?  Oh, I know!!!  I got it!!!  Forever pour salt on me, or something.

Jeff

It depends. When I am feeling existential I slap her and tell her God is dead but there is a risk of ruining the moment, for sure.

Which is, traditionally, a purely vanilla term of endearment.

Who calls their pet dog or cat "pet"?  [:)]

hejira92 -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 8:25:24 PM)

All I can say is:
Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me
I want to be dirty
Thrill me, chill me, fulfill me
Creature of the night

(I must have learned this song at Penzic during a discussion on whether Humans and Klingons would really be able to have live offspring. Oh, and I believe at the time, we were eating spam.)

Also, I consider Sir to be my Lord and Master. He rules me, He determines my future, He has unlimited power over me, I am in awe of Him and I worship Him. I am not delusional and His power is fact. About the other stuff- just kidding- I have never been to Penzic (sp?). But, to be honest, I have had the human/klingon discussion [:)].

aSlavesLife -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 8:26:42 PM)

My slave refers to me with a deific title, and I refer to her as pet, toy, doll, and a host of other less printable titles because it amuses me to do so. No other reason needed.

But now I am wordering about half Klingon, half Elvish Jedi on the planet Gor. Sounds like a great movie idea.

MzMia -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 8:46:32 PM)

LOL be careful, it is okay to call another human being "God" or "Lord" or "Master".
But please don't call yourself a Female Supremacist.  That is not allowed!
Now back to your regularly scheduled entertainment.
hehehehe[:D]

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Good Lord (1/16/2007 8:51:25 PM)

I'm into worship.  Whether it be my lord, my captain, my sir, my master or my god- they are all appropriate at the time they are used.

Personally i very much come from the mindframe that what i choose to believe is what is for me. If i choose to believe my Master is a god, a Lord, a King or whatever - then that's what He is for me and to me. Just what IS real anyway? Is a system of belief and dogma any more real because a majority abide by it than one only believed in by a few? Who decides what is real? There are enough metaphysical concepts and theories to challenge anyone's perception of reality.

I think you are delusional if you believe that to be fact but I don't judge your delusion, I stand in awe of your ability to believe and wish you the best. I don't get it when people speak of their God this way and so I will certainly not get it when you speak of a man this way, but again I don't judge.

Besides, the great thing about being delusional  is that no one could ever convince you otherwise:)

No one needs to.  Time takes care of it.

You know, I didn't understand it either. But instead of starting a thread insulting everyone who does this, I emailed someone privately and asked about it.  The answer I received made sense to me and that was that.

But here, I don't think you are really looking to know why.  It appears you are instead posting a rant, while using the question to somehow justify it.
