Having a repairman say "uh oh . . . this isn't good". Worse would be coming from a doctor, but I think they are trained not to react spontaneously like that, and they just order more tests.

Any phrase that tells me I shouldn't swear[:D]

Hearing a 2 or 3 y/o say "uh oh" in the next room is equally as bad.

mymasterssub69 -> RE: What is a phrase you don't like to hear someone say (1/24/2007 8:54:25 AM)

"Lets just be friends"

Annoying as hell, just say you don't want to be around the person. Blunt hurts less in the long run then the slow death this line implies.

On the flip side there are alot of people I am friends with that I would not want to be in a relationship with.

I even remember telling someone "let's just be friends for now". In a relationship I would have murderized her, as a friend I just rip her a new ass when she does something stupid.

thekajiracat -> RE: What is a phrase you don't like to hear someone say (1/24/2007 9:16:56 AM)

i find the phrase "you know what im talkin bout" to be very annoying.

Lorelei115 -> RE: What is a phrase you don't like to hear someone say (1/24/2007 9:18:05 AM)

When somone calls something "gay" (Like "That's so gay") meaning that its stupid. I HATE THAT!

LadyEllen -> RE: What is a phrase you don't like to hear someone say (1/24/2007 9:19:13 AM)

I'm going with MissT, on the growing trend in the UK to use "innit" as the conditional interrogative suffix (I think thats what its called, anyway)

As in

I'm going to the shops, innit?
He's great, innit?
I'm brushing my hair, innit?
We cant talk proper, innit?

We need the death sentence back in the UK.

Yes i have to agree with Lady Ellen about the death sentence.Providing there is 100 percent proof ofcourse. As prisons are very overcrowded here in the uk.

Here's what I hate to hear around here:

I am a true dominate.  Where are all of the real subs?

To be grammatically correct, the sentence should read "I am a Dominate in search of a submit."

I think the one I most hate to hear…from my Dominant during the very edgy play I enjoy…is:

………Ooops!

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: What is a phrase you don't like to hear someone say (1/24/2007 9:52:16 AM)

Lorelie- TOTALLY

Also for me is when someone says "Really?" after I say something.  I always reply straightly "No, I'm lying"

It usually takes them about 5 seconds to process.

darchChylde -> RE: What is a phrase you don't like to hear someone say (1/24/2007 9:56:07 AM)

"I'm just thinking out loud."

i just want to grab the person and shake them while beating them about the head and shoulders with a blunt object.  "THEN YOU'RE TALKING.  YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND WORDS COME OUT!!!  YOU HAVE JUST DEFINED TALKING IN THE MOST ELOQUENT MANNER POSSIBLE!!!  WHY DON'T I SHOVE YOUR HEAD FURTHER UP YOUR ASS SO NO ONE HAS TO HEAR YOU 'THINK OUT LOUD' ANY MORE?!?!?!"

i also hate someone calling someone "ignant", does it even take a double-digit IQ to see the irony of mispronouncing the word ignorant?

I feel the same way about the phrase "Platonic Friendship", when applied to intergender relations.  If I socialized for the sole purpose of "platonic friendship", I would only hang out with men..........period.  The sad truth is that I will only pay special attention to a woman when I have a clear shot at the finish line.

Consequently, this is the same reason that alot of straight women like to hang out in gay bars.

One of my jobs is a longshoreman. It is one of those lovely, blue collar jobs where the Men (and Women) are Men, and the only word anybody uses for any reason starts with F and rhymes with luck.  Some of these, myself included, have graduate credits and advanced educations, like my buddy the former principal with a PhD in education.  The problem he and I generally have is we are forced to blend with the Neanderthal which requires us to use their language.  Search for my nick with the word Neanderthal and find my thesis on the subject.

The other job is one where I say lovely things like "Bend over, #@$%^$ bitch, and flash me a vertical smile" to students, who then kick me in the head.  That job is what I consider my "beer money" job.  Something so satisfying about cashing that paycheck and knowing that I learned how to talk nicely to women on the docks.

Probably wrong, but there you go.
