I noticed that alot of the current posts were on rather serious topics so i have decided to start one on a lighter note :).
I have put it in general discussion, because it isnt just for one category or another to answer.

So, what is your style of driving and do you think it reflects in your personality, (since this is a BDSM based forum lets say slightly specifically to BDSM personality).

My answer:
I drive a 1987 Toyota Corolla (its the same age as me!) named Seamus (after Seamus Heaney). I wouldnt say i am an agressive driver, but even though i havent been driving for very long (just over a year) i absolutely love it!
I have a tendency to accelerate quickly (this doesnt happen if there are cars infront of me) and i never risk my safety or safety of my passengers, but sometimes i just like to go fast. I never go over the speed limit (unfortunately.. i think i would see the police as too kinky if they ever pulled me over and that may cause problems).
I think my driving does reflect my personality... confident, stubborn.. and i dont think my submissive nature can be separated from that.

So now, onto everyone else!!

That's an interesting one. i'm generally submissive in all aspects of my life- i'm quiet, i defer to other people even when i'm fairly confident they're wrong, i hate to raise a fuss, inconvenience people, or have attention drawn to myself. But i drive like a spree killer, and have some fairly unusual and aggressive vehicles  i'm not sure what that says about me.

Hummm...you go fast but don't exceed the speed limit...wow what a thriller!  You respect your given limits it seems, but like to play within your established play area.  Me, I drive my red hot sports car (Misb 3000GT) criusing at 80mph and when the road is clearer closer to 100mph, and when I know the enforcers aren't around to tag me I like 120mph.

My master to be must either have higher limits, or be able to catch me in the act.  Some like to push their limits and others don't.  I do let others cut in front of me around town to show I care, but just don't slow me down though.  But what does that say about BDSM limits?  Only time will tell for me!

Hmmm - well I'm a confident driver, but I'm a confident strong submissive LOL.  I'm only submissive with my Dom, in all other aspects of life I am very dominant and confident.... :)

I'm aggressive, courteous, and careful.  I suppose you could say that's some of my personality, but I think it's more that I learned to drive in New Jersey.

Em... i've always been a crazy driver.  I once melted my own tire = (  I've always had a heavy foot, if i'm not driving faster then everyone else, i dont feel like i'm driving.  Usually i can hit 80 mph with out thinking.  My normal rate of driving is about 20 over.   When i was younger i once tested the speed of cop cars and as i flew past one, i slammed on the gas.  He managed to catch up.  I tested the manueverability of another cop in traffic and he caught up with me too = (  (can we say reckless driving tickets??)  i've even raced WITH a cop (and he for some lucky reason didnt pull me over as i was flying at about 100)   i was younger then...... hadnt lost my license to suspension back then.. hadnt so many tickets either....

Now that i'm older, i do drive like a bat out of hell if its just me in the car.  But its tempered.  I also have a very good system of keeping an eye out for the cops.  <wicked grin>   I can be a very aggressive driver.  i'm very good at manuevering in traffic and i can cut almost anyone off.  Which i only do these days if need be.  i tend to keep my eyes on ALL the cars on the road and i tend to be very good at predicting what other drivers are going to do next.  Like i said, i'm alot more sedate now and i prefer to keep WITH traffic instead of stand out.  Luckily for me, alot of other ppl also like to speed so its not too hard.  These days when i speed i do prefer to play "follow the leader"  Which is basically following some one else who is speeding.  (or a group of others).

Never been in a real accident.   Almost flipped the SUV one night, but i wasnt paying attention to the road and i looked up and there were brake lights.. and the SUV wasnt mine and handled differently then the bonniville i had and i yanked to hard to swerve.  But thats what i get for thinking a road is empty at 4 am and paying little attention.  i was fine, the car was demolished.

Master IS working on me with my driving.  Drive the speed limit............ ACK...  it kills me to do so, but i do do it when he tells me too.. i just grumble alot while i'm driving.

all in all - i LOVE to drive.  ITs freeing, cleanses my soul and its like the world is my playground.  Even though i can be classified as reckless - i'm damn safer then anyone else i know.  (but thats because i'm smart about it).  I say i'm safer, because not many keep their eyes on all the cars nor have they a clue what another car is going to do next.

I'm also a friendly driver.  i let ppl in, i let em cut me off.  i have no issue with what they want to do, so long as they dont drop my speed too much - unless there's a damn good reason.  i also dont drive like i do with other ppl in the car, because A if something happens i dont want anyone else to get hurt and B i tend to scare the shit out of ppl.

I don't think my style of driving reflects anything but a desire to remain alive. I drive on average 100 miles a day, almost all highway and freeway. I drive fast obviously but not recklessly and my driving record shows it.

I drive the most compact car I could find that Doug actually fit inside.  He is 6'6 so finding something where he didn't hit his head...etc was a tough one.
Cars really aren't built for size inside at all.
So, currently I drive a mustang.  I own an suv.  We also own his truck.  I'm on the search for a new car, wanting something compact.

Driving well it has been a necessity all of my life so if I don't have to drive anymore I do not.
I'd like to say I drive careful and in reality I must.  I'm over 2 million on miles and never been in an accident I caused yet.  So I must be doing something correctly.
Just got my first ticket the other day in years for going over the speed limit by 8.

I get anxious when someone is driving under the speed limit in front of me.  I like to get where I need to go in a timely fashion and not be held up by somebody who just doens't know how to drive.
Morons in general on the road bother me.

Our vehicle fits into our lifestyle. We're country folk that has more animals than the law should allow so that means 50 lb. bags of everything, have to haul straw, hay and shavings, live on top of a mountain that can be treacherous in the winter time if not impassable even in 4 wheel drive and try to do the major portion of our grocery shopping and what not monthly. Needless to say, we own a pickemup truck.
The Ol'man does most of the driving.......Does it reflect his D/s-yness???  Gawd I hope not!!!!!!

I hate driving and not hate is not too strong of a word. I do it I must, like cleaning the bathroom or paying bills.

I distrust most of the people who drive where I live -- apparently qualifing to drive is merely an age thing around here cause they sure don't act like they had much training or commonsense.

I guess then you might see my dom attutide in the fact that I prefer to be driven places and I consider it a good service to provide to me.

I drive a 07 Dodge Charger SRT 8 and yes I'm a little aggressive when I drive. Yesterday I was on hwy 35 behind some slow ass
bitch (doing 35mph in a 55mph zone on her cell phone) when I passed her I lit the rear wheels up at 80mph.

I use my signals whenever it will affect someone, I slow down and let others in, and in general am quite civilized when I drive.

Over the past couple of years my driving style has changed from insecure and overly careful to confident and assertive.

i drive a very good mileage small diesel VW which has a turbo boost that can be a lot of fun.  i am careful of safety and try not to speed for the sake of mileage (and the environment) but that is a practice of me keeping myself in check on a daily basis since i have a very heavy foot!

All in all, i have fun driving, i love to accelerate quickly & to speed but don't let myself often, i don't have road rage but definetly give a good honk if i think someones being an ass, i like busy freeways and highway driving, i'm aware of safety, i suck at remembering where a place is unless i've driven there myself before, and i'm conscious of the environment, i hate having a dirty car and am embarrassed to drive it when it has any damage due to a deer-hit, etc (that's the proud leo in me, i suppose).

i am a submissive woman who fights dominant tendencies (based on habit and the way i was raised) who gets kicks out of pain but also loves pleasure!

My car does not reflect who I am at all so I won't even mention it but to say my very first car most represented me - a Fiat convertable - cute, fast, free, and broke down a lot

However, I learned offensive driving in San Jose.  One must drive that way there or one does not get anywhere.  I long for a little sports car today, although I have had enough tickets I could teach drivers training myself.  Knock on wood, it's been years, although I have been known to charm my way out of a few tickets.  These days I do drive fast but less aggressively.  If someone wants to pass, go for it.  I am not offended by tailgaters, or by people who are having their own personal melt downs in their cars.  I drive fast but if you're driving faster than me I'll get out of your way and let you by.  Why not be considerate?

I would not say my driving is related to my submission, but finding frustration in being stuck in traffic might be a good analogy to when I come across road blocks in life, too.  Either find an alternative route, or wait it out patiently, knowing it's just a temporary hold up.

My driving style is hyphy. If you are from the Bay Area you know what I mean. It is a departure from my usual self, alot more agressive and show off. I am just so good at it. No accidents but what a rush

I love driving..have been driving for 4 years now..but yea it doesn't really tell that I'm sub..I'm neatly balanced in the safe yet aggressive driver class and I know how to drive depending on circumstances so no I can't really say I'm submissive when it comes to driving, I don't own a car myself, I borrow them :) but no the cars I'm interested in and will own in the future definitely wouldn't reflect my submissiveness..if I'd have to put them into d/s category I'd say they'd rather fall into the dominant category

well, i do not know how to drive. never had even the slightest desire to learn...i've always had an overwhelming fear of all the power, responsibility and control one takes on when one drives a vehicle, therefore i avoided it in all the teen years when everyone else couldn't wait to get their license or their first car. now i have a Master who likes (at least for now) that i cannot drive, as that's something he must control (where i go, how i get there). He has said that it's possible he may teach me to drive at some point in the future, in case of emergencies, but he says he would teach me to drive "humbly and submissively" as opposed to assertive or aggressive.

is my fear of driving related to my submissive personality? maybe, or maybe i'm just a freak with a phobia.

Let's see.

Confident.  Little regard for personal safety.  Aggressive when need be but never reckless.  Smooth.  Usually aware of unwanted authority figures.

Yes, that might describe my BDSM ethos.

Jeff

I drive a 6 year old VW Passat 4WD hatchback. I drive like a little old lady, result of too many encounters with deer. I live in a semirural county where the largest cause of auto fatalities are caused by deer.

Do not swerve for animals on the road, if you do the odds are you will hit a telephone pole or a tree. If you hit the deer straight it will slide over the top of the car and you and your passengers will survive although frequently the car doesn't. This from a state trooper who deer hunts here and took the time to take my eldest with her brand new permit aside and talk to her about it.
