"p.s. Jesus please protect me from your followers"...It is the tag line to all of my posts.  It seems that some people have a real problem with this....It has a particular meaning to me ....but I understand that the meaning of this "p.s." might be construed as something entirely different by another....So two things:

#1)  Do you find "it" to be offensive?...or not?. .and if so.... why or why not?

#2) Finish the tag line to fit your desires....Jesus please protect me from______________?

out.

p.s. Jesus please protect me from your followers.

'Jesus please protect me from Christians' says it all to me. If Christians have a problem then then they are very good Christians, turn the other cheek and all that but then we need protecting from Christians precisely because they don't practice what they preach. They are the same as muslims who insist of Islam being peaceful but if you inadvertently insult it you are attacked.

No it doesn't offend me at all. It just strikes me as a bit of edgy, ironic humor.

I have had Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses knock on my door at 8 o'clock in the morning trying to convert me. At that point, THEY probably need protection from ME.

Jesus please protect my computer from domiguy, as his posts often make me spit coffee at my screen.

Actually I don't find it offensive. I find it funny. The reason I find it funny is because it's true.

I don't have a problem with Jesus:

I have a problem with the people who come to my door, and try to strong arm me into coming to their church. They will even stick their foot in the door as I close it to get another word in.

I have a problem with, being acosted outside of a business facility, especially when I decide to light up a smoke when I first walk out, and they want to preach to me about how cigarettes are witchcraft, and how I put smoking before God.

I have a problem with family members getting screwed out of certain amounts of money by the TV evangelists.

I have a problem with preachers who preach what they seldom practice.

So yes... I have a problem with Jesus' followers.

Jesus please protect me from your followers. It works for me.

i don't find it offensive either ...thinking of using it myself since most of my family are deeply committed in their Christian faiths. sometimes i do need protection from the Hispanic Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses because of my last name but i won't see any of them again until warmer weather arrives.

your tagline makes me laugh every time i read your posts - i say keep it

Offend me?  It makes me laugh!  i try always to follow the teachings of Jesus but i want nothing to do with Christians, they keep judging me, want to pick specks out of my eye and throw stones....

Virgina City, Nevada boasts more brothels then churches and gee the folks are so friendly, compassionate and fun!

just my opinion based on my personal experiences

Not offensive in the slightest.  My usual way of framing the sentiment is, "Jesus and I get along great, it's his fan club I can't stand."  When asked if I know him, my standard response is, "Yes, we were on the same cellblock in Baptist School for a couple years."

Nope, I don't find it offensive, it made me smile when I saw it, it reminded me of some literature someone posted through my door at Christmas, it was all religious stuff about how we should all be scared to death because of the increase in numbers of sex addicts and perverts - it was the best news I'd had all year

And the tagline "Jesus please protect me from______________? ..... ermmmm had a think about this one and decided on 'the clap'

I guess what I don't understand is why anyone would care enough to find it offensive.  It's not like the guy who called you on it knows you.  It's also not like you directed it to him.  In fact, I thought you showed great restraint in trying to explain it to him.  Ah, screw him.  He's just mad cuz da Bears are gonna kick ass today!

Jesus please protect me from those I need protection from.

A tautology, but very, very true.

Doesn't offend me in the least.  Course I guess I haven't really felt the need to "judge"  anyone's tag line.  It seems to me just an extention of their personal space.  If it bothers me then I guess I just won't look anymore.  *shrug*

If I think about it...it makes me laugh and makes perfect sence to me.  I think Jesus was one of ths most awsome people to ever set foot on this planet.  However, those that claim to follow him and try to live as he did...seem to know VERY little about him and act NOTHING like him.  Too bad...but oh well...we all have to walk our own path.

Jesus please protect me from ignorance and intolerance!!

I'm an agnostic, and don't find it offensive at all. I think the worst flak I ever caught from a religo was when one told me that I was going to burn in hell for eternity for having long hair. I told him that there was only one recorded haircut in the Bible, Samson, and look at what happend to him because of it.

I do have to agree with Lorelei about my computer needing protection from domiguy's posts.

Being agnostic I don't find it offensive at all, more amusing as a sig line than anything. I find it more offensive the things people do in the name of whatever diety they believe in. JMO

I think Jesus would probably find that sig line amusing.

Nope, not offensive to me at all.  I quite like it, in fact.  Irony tickles my funny bone.   Keep it.

I think it's humorous, and that's not just because I'm not a Christian. I can take a joke even if it's about my own beliefs, as long as it's light-hearted and it's not meant to be hateful. It doesn't even say anything insulting about Jesus, so I don't see what the big deal is about it. In my experience, most of the so-called Christians I've come in contact with have been people I truly do need protection from, being queer and all. But I have nothing against Christians who aren't all hypocritical and judgemental. I even dated one, lol. It's just funny! People need to learn to get a sense of humor.

I have no problem with it, I find it humorous and quite utilitarian.

Jesus, protect me from your followers.
Jesus, protect me from your non-followers.
Jesus, protect me from dogs with big muddy feet.
Jesus, protect me from color-blind nail techs.
Jesus, protect me from pirates.
Jesus, protect me from staphylococcus aurelius.
Jesus, protect me from idiotic school administrators.
Jesus, protect me from disatisfied customers.
Jesus, protect me from people with no sense of humor.

In its way, it could be considered a prayer, even.

I am extremely concerned about this sig line. It shows extreme selfishness.

I mean, it could ask for protection for all of us, rather than Domiguy alone.
